Guide to Chapter 2 of Yakuza 3 Remastered. Help Kiryu find Izumi, travel to Downtown Ryukyu, and face the Ryudo Family led by Rikiya Shimabukuro.
Alright, so after a time skip, you're back in 2007 and Kiryu's got a whole bunch of kids to look after at the orphanage. Things seem peaceful, but wouldn't you know it, one of the kids, Izumi, goes missing right before dinner! Kiryu and Haruka are gonna go find her. As soon as you get control, the game will point out your new 'hideout,' which is basically your save point, item box, cutscene viewer, and stat checker. It's marked as 'Oji-san's Room,' so head there first if you want to get your bearings.
Once you're ready, head outside and make your way towards the beach. You'll find Izumi just staring out at the water. Honestly, a lot of these early chapters are all about Kiryu being the best dad figure these kids could ask for. After you console Izumi, we jump forward another six months. Turns out, some shady characters have been lurking around the orphanage, and eviction notices are piling up. Kiryu decides it's time to head downtown and have a little chat with this Ryudo Family.
Just a quick note about Ryukyu: you'll always have access to the beach right in front of the orphanage. You can scour the coastline for washed-up trash, and some of it might even be useful items. If you're feeling adventurous, there's also a fishing pole available if you want to try the Fishing minigame. When you're ready to move on, head down the road from the orphanage (either direction works) and you'll eventually get a prompt to travel to Downtown Ryukyu. Once you arrive, you won't have many places to explore initially, so head south, then east. Keep an eye out, and you'll spot the shady guys' truck chilling in the southeast corner.
This is where you'll meet the punks: Rikiya Shimabukuro and Mikio Aragaki. Rikiya, the captain of the Ryudo Family, will step up to face you. He's a pretty decent fighter, not unlike Majima. Your best bet is to watch out for his three-hit combo, which finishes with a jumping knee. Try to dodge that and then slide around behind him. You can also use the patio furniture scattered around the area to your advantage. After you defeat Rikiya, he'll lead you to his boss. Just follow him. As you walk, you'll start to get the feeling that despite Rikiya's tough exterior, he and the rest of the Ryudo Family are actually pretty well-respected by the locals. When you finally arrive at the Ryudo Family Office, head inside to meet Nakahara, the patriarch. It turns out the land Kiryu and his neighbors are on has been owned by the Ryudo Family for a while, and there are plans for a new development – either a resort or maybe even an American military base. Kiryu isn't impressed and makes it clear they aren't leaving. Even when Nakahara tries to threaten him, Kiryu stands his ground. And that's pretty much it for this chapter!
