Master Midoro Palace in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link with our comprehensive guide. Learn enemy strategies, find keys, and obtain the Handy Glove to progress.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering Midoro Palace, strike the Iron Knuckle statue at the entrance. It will either drop a Red Magic Jar or spawn a Red Iron Knuckle. If a Red Iron Knuckle appears, exit and re-enter the palace until a Red Magic Jar appears. This allows you to fully restore your Life and Magic Meters using the Life spell. This statue trick works for most palaces from now on.
- 2Take the elevator down two levels. Go left, avoiding the rocks spat by snake-like Anerus. Defeat them with crouched slashes (20 EXP each). A Bubble may appear later in this room.
- 3In the next room, defeat the Bot and then the two Blue Stalfos. Be ready to dodge their downthrust attacks. You gain 50 EXP per Blue Stalfos. At the end of this room, you will find Key #1.
- 4Return to the elevator and go down one more level. Go right, past some Bots, and be wary of the Ra statue that fires energy beams, which can be blocked with your shield.
- 5In the next room, cast Shield. You will face two Gumas. Their chain hammer attacks are difficult to dodge due to the platform placement. After defeating them, Key #2 is at the end of the corridor.
- 6Use the same elevator to go up twice. Go left. Red statues on the ceiling will spit molten liquid that you must dodge. Some may drop blue liquid that turns into a Bot.
- 7Defeat a Blue Stalfos as you move left to the next room. Here, face more Bots accompanied by a Ra statue that fires projectiles in a wave pattern. Destroying them yields 20 EXP each. Continue past the locked door.
- 8Carefully cross the lava pit. Let any Bots on the next platform jump first to avoid being knocked into the lava. Grab Key #3 as you cross.
- 9In the next room, dodge falling liquid drips and fight an Orange Iron Knuckle. Continue left to face another Iron Knuckle with a Bubble.
- 10In the next room, strike the Ra statue with your sword to get a Red Magic Jar. Heal yourself. Fight the two Bubbles one at a time, positioning yourself to hit them within sword reach. This room is ideal for grinding EXP to raise your Magic to Level 4 and Life to Level 5 (at least 800 EXP needed for Life Level 5). Bubbles respawn here.
- 11Once your stats are at least Level 3 Attack, Level 4 Magic, and Level 4 Life, take the elevator at the end of the room down once. Go left through the locked door, fighting a Blue Stalfos and an Aneru.
- 12The next room has falling blocks that damage you. A Treasure Bag (50 EXP) is on the floor, but may be covered by blocks. You can return for it later.
- 13In the next room, cast Shield and ensure you have enough Magic for Jump. You will face a Red Iron Knuckle. Defeat it with jump attacks. Watch out for the statue leaking fire and Bots.
- 14Defeat a second Red Iron Knuckle to obtain the palace's special item: the Handy Glove. This allows you to destroy blocks with your sword.
- 15Before leaving this room, cast Jump and slash the Iron Knuckle statue to reveal a Red Magic Jar for healing. Exit the room.
