Walkthrough
- 1At the entrance, take the Red Magic Jar from the Iron Knuckle statue if needed.
- 2Ride the elevator down one floor.
- 3Go right and use Jump Thrust to defeat Bubbles guarding a Treasure Bag (100 EXP).
- 4Go left, past more Bubbles.
- 5Let the Blue Parutamu come down the steps, then climb them yourself.
- 6Defeat the Fiery Moa and any Wosus.
- 7Use Downthrust to collect another Treasure Bag (200 EXP).
- 8Return to the elevator.
- 9Take the elevator down and unlock the door to go right.
- 10Deal with Wizards and a Doomknocker.
- 11In the next room, defeat or push a Blue Iron Knuckle into the hole behind it.
- 12Beyond two holes, you will see an Iron Knuckle statue on a high ledge. Drop into the hole on the right and fall down four floors, holding Right on the D-pad, to land on the ledge. Strike the statue for a Red Magic Jar. If it gives a Red Iron Knuckle, drop down the pits again to reload it.
- 13From the statue, go right and unlock the door.
- 14Ignore the Blue Iron Knuckle and jump up the steps to the next room.
- 15Deal with Wizards and Mau statues. Prioritize taking damage from statue beams over Wizard spells.
- 16Continue right to find a Blue Iron Knuckle trapped in breakable blocks. Break the high corner piece to jump up and avoid its swords.
- 17Defeat fast Bubbles, being careful not to use Downthrust and fall.
- 18On the other side of the Blue Iron Knuckle, collect a Treasure Bag (100 EXP).
- 19Climb up and right, jumping over a wide gap to avoid the Doomknocker below. If you fall, defeat the foe; getting back up without casting Jump is difficult.
- 20Continue right to a room with Wizards and a Fiery Moa.
- 21Pass the third Iron Knuckle statue in the background and stop.
- 22Run and jump from the edge of the false floor (two bricks from the third statue) to cross the gap. Casting Jump is recommended. If you fall, go left one room, take the elevator up to the Doomknocker room, then go right and try again.
- 23Past the invisible hole, break through the block wall.
- 24In the next room, fight the mini-boss Rebonack. Wait for him to charge on horseback and use Downthrust. After he dismounts, fight him like a Blue Iron Knuckle. He gives 300 EXP.
- 25Take Key #1 and unlock the door to find the Cross.
- 26With the Cross, backtrack left and intentionally drop into the invisible hole.
- 27Upon landing, go right, jump up, and destroy breakable blocks.
- 28Jump up the created gap.
- 29On the other side, a Red Iron Knuckle guards a Treasure Bag (200 EXP).
- 30Head left, breaking blocks while fighting or dodging a Bubble and another Red Iron Knuckle.
Tips
- This palace is one of the toughest in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Conserve life whenever possible.
- Coming in with approximately 5000 EXP allows you to gain the remaining 3000 EXP easily from the Treasure Bags and bosses, minimizing unnecessary combat.
- The total EXP available within the palace is 1200 EXP from Treasure Bags, 700 EXP from the boss, and 300 EXP from each of the two mini-bosses, totaling 2200 EXP.
- Completing the palace after inserting the final crystal will grant a free extra life due to fully leveled stats.
- The Red Magic Jar at the entrance can be used to heal if you take significant damage.
- Damage from statue beams is less severe than damage from Wizards or their spells.
- The Cross allows you to see otherwise invisible enemies on your way to the final palace.
