Quests are the lifeblood of progression in Aion, offering experience, valuable gear, and insight into the rich lore of Atreia. Understanding the different types of quests and how to efficiently complete them is crucial for any aspiring Daeva.

Quest Types

• Story Quests (Main Campaign): These are the primary narrative quests, marked with a distinctive golden icon. They guide you through the core plot of Aion, unlock new regions, and often provide significant experience and unique rewards, including Stigma Shards and high-quality equipment. Prioritize these quests to advance your character and unlock essential game features.
• Side Quests: Identified by a blue icon, side quests offer supplementary experience and rewards. While not mandatory for story progression, they are excellent for leveling up, acquiring crafting materials, and earning Kinah. Many side quests also introduce you to interesting characters and local lore.
• Daily/Weekly Quests: These repeatable quests, often found in major cities like Sanctum (Elyos) or Pandaemonium (Asmodian), are vital for consistent resource generation. They typically involve defeating a certain number of specific monsters, gathering materials, or performing simple tasks. Rewards often include crafting components, Abyss Points, and special tokens that can be exchanged for powerful gear.
• Campaign Quests: Similar to story quests but often with a broader scope, Campaign Quests contribute to the overarching faction war between the Elyos and Asmodians. They frequently involve venturing into contested territories or participating in large-scale PvE encounters.
• Crafting Quests: These quests are given by crafting masters in various cities and guide you through the intricacies of Aion's crafting system. Completing them grants experience in a chosen profession and often provides starter crafting tools or recipes.

General Questing Strategies

Efficient questing can significantly speed up your progression. Here are some actionable tips:

• Group Up: For challenging quests, especially those involving elite monsters or dungeons, forming a party is highly recommended. Not only does it make combat easier, but many quests allow for shared progress on monster kills or item collection.
• use the Map: Your in-game map (default key 'M') is your best friend. Quest objectives are clearly marked, and clicking on them will often set a pathfinding arrow to guide you directly to your destination.
• Read Quest Descriptions: While tempting to skip, reading quest text can provide valuable clues about monster locations, item drop rates, or specific strategies needed to complete an objective.
• Manage Inventory: Quest items often take up inventory space. turn in completed quests regularly to free up room for new items and rewards. Consider purchasing a larger Cube (inventory expansion) early on.
• Combine Objectives: Look for opportunities to complete multiple quests in the same area. If you have two quests requiring you to kill different types of monsters in the same zone, tackle them simultaneously.

Early Game Quest Walkthrough Example: "The First Trial" (Elyos)

This early-game quest introduces new Elyos players to basic combat and quest mechanics in Poeta.

1. Accept the Quest: Speak with Centurion Meneros in the Poeta Training Camp. He will task you with proving your combat prowess.
2. Locate the Training Dummies: Head east from Meneros. You'll find a cluster of Training Dummies (non-aggressive targets) near the edge of the camp.
3. Defeat Training Dummies (0/5): Use your basic attacks and skills to destroy 5 Training Dummies. This is a safe way to practice your class's combat rotation.
4. Report Back: Return to Centurion Meneros to complete the quest.
5. Reward: You will receive experience, a small amount of Kinah, and potentially a basic weapon or armor piece, such as a Trainee's Sword or Trainee's Leather Tunic, depending on your class.

Mid-Game Quest Example: "Cleansing the Verteron Citadel" (Elyos)

This quest involves venturing into a more dangerous area and dealing with aggressive mobs.

1. Accept the Quest: Find Brigade General Telemachus inside the Verteron Citadel. He will request your aid in clearing out the encroaching Mau.
2. Travel to the Mau Stronghold: Head northwest from Verteron Citadel towards the Black Claw Outpost. Be cautious, as this area is populated by aggressive Black Claw Mau Warriors and Black Claw Mau Shamans.
3. Eliminate Mau Threats (0/10): Defeat 10 Black Claw Mau of any type within the Black Claw Outpost. Focus on pulling individual enemies or small groups to avoid being overwhelmed. use crowd control abilities if you have them.
4. Collect Mau Totems (0/5): Some Black Claw Mau will drop Mau Totems upon defeat. Ensure you pick these up; they are quest items and will automatically be added to your inventory.
5. Return to Telemachus: Once you have defeated enough Mau and collected the required totems, return to Brigade General Telemachus in Verteron Citadel.
6. Reward: Significant experience, Kinah, and a choice of a green-grade weapon or armor piece, such as a Verteron Defender's Greatsword or Verteron Scout's Leather Vest.

Advanced Questing Tips

• Abyss Quests: Once you reach the Abyss, a new set of quests becomes available. These often involve PvP objectives, such as defeating enemy faction players or capturing fortresses. They offer substantial Abyss Points and unique Abyss gear.
• Crafting Material Quests: Keep an eye out for quests that reward crafting materials specific to your chosen profession. These can save you a lot of time and Kinah compared to gathering them yourself.
• Instance Quests: Many dungeons and instances have associated quests that can be picked up outside or inside the instance. These often require you to defeat specific bosses or collect unique drops, providing bonus rewards on top of the instance loot.
