Acquiring Your First Mount

Your first Mount is often obtained through early game quests or as a reward for reaching certain milestones. The most common initial Mount is the Shugo Jetbike for both Elyos and Asmodians, offering a significant speed boost over standard running.

• Quest Acquisition: Look for quests around level 10-15 in your starting zones (Poeta for Elyos, Ishalgen for Asmodians) that introduce you to Mounts. These typically involve speaking to a Stable Master NPC.
• Item Shop: The Aion Black Cloud Marketplace frequently offers several unique and aesthetically pleasing Mounts, often with enhanced speed or special abilities. Keep an eye out for promotions!
• Crafting: Certain rare Mounts can be crafted by high-level artisans. This often requires rare materials dropped from world bosses or found in high-level zones. Consult your faction's crafting trainers for specific recipes.

Mount Types and Abilities

Mounts in Aion come in various forms, each with distinct appearances and sometimes unique abilities. While all Mounts provide increased movement speed, some offer additional benefits:

• Standard Mounts: These are your basic land-based Mounts, such as the Kukuru or Stormwing. They primarily offer speed.
• Flight-Enabled Mounts: A select few Mounts, like the Aetherwing, allow for limited flight, which can be incredibly useful in specific zones or for traversing difficult terrain. Note that flight time is still governed by your character's flight meter.
• Utility Mounts: Rare Mounts might offer passive buffs, such as increased gathering speed or reduced skill cooldowns while mounted. These are highly sought after and often come from challenging content or special events.

Pet System Overview

Pets in Aion are more than just cosmetic companions; they provide tangible benefits that can significantly impact your gameplay. There are several categories of Pets, each serving a different purpose.

Types of Pets

1. Companion Pets: These pets follow you around and offer emotional support, but no direct gameplay benefits. They are primarily for aesthetics.
2. Buff Pets: These pets provide passive buffs to your character, such as increased HP, MP, attack, or defense. Examples include the Wise Kitter (MP regeneration) or the Courageous Porgus (Attack).
3. Looting Pets: Pets like the Shugo Messenger automatically pick up loot from defeated enemies, saving you valuable time during grinding sessions.
4. Warehouse Pets: These pets, such as the Kaisinel's Agent or Marchutan's Agent, grant you access to your personal warehouse from anywhere in the world, a massive convenience for inventory management.
5. Combat Pets: While less common, some pets can assist you in combat, dealing damage or applying debuffs to enemies. The Battle Porgus is a prime example.

Acquiring Pets

• Quests: Early game quests, particularly those introducing the pet system, will often reward you with a basic Companion Pet.
• Item Shop: The Black Cloud Marketplace is a primary source for a wide variety of Pets, including many Buff, Looting, and Warehouse Pets. These often come with unique designs.
• Drops: Rare Pets can sometimes drop from specific world bosses or dungeon encounters. Keep an eye on zone drops for unique pet eggs.
• Events: Aion frequently hosts in-game events that offer exclusive Pets as rewards. Participate in these events to expand your pet collection.
• Crafting: Similar to Mounts, some advanced Pets can be crafted by high-level artisans using rare materials.

Pet Management and Training

Once you acquire a Pet, you'll need to manage it effectively to maximize its benefits.

• Summoning and Dismissing: Pets are summoned and dismissed via the Pet window (default key 'P'). You can only have one active Pet at a time.
