- 1In the Mind Place, interact with the Case Board. Saga will remark that her work is gone.
- 2Attempt to leave the Mind Place; you will receive a Mind Place key image to place on the Case Board.
- 3Place the Mind Place key clue on the Case Board. Two questions, "How Do I Leave?" and "You Failed Them", will appear.
- 4Go to the profiling table and open the profile of "Other Saga".
- 5Select the "Failed Them" topic, followed by the "Casey" and "Logan" topics.
- 6Return to the Case Board and place the three obtained clues against "You Failed Them".
- 7Examine the pile of Manuscripts, the TV, the Deer Head, and the messy tray next to the fireplace in the Mind Place for clues.
- 8Read the folder on the wine rack for more clues.
- 9Return to the profiling table and click on Casey's profile for another clue.
- 10Open the "Other Saga" profile and select the "Horror Story" topic.
- 11Return to the Case Board; you should have a total of eight clues to place. Place the "Logan is dead" clue multiple times.
- 12Leave the Case Board and examine drawings on the wall above a child's bed, newspaper clippings on the floor, a phone by the fireplace, a deer mask on a pillar, and cult symbols hanging from the ceiling for more clues.
- 13After placing the latest batch of clues, open the "Other Saga" profile again.
- 14Select "A Way Out", followed by "I Need A Way Out!".
- 15The lights will go out. Pick up the torch from the profiling table.
- 16Destroy a darkness node obscuring the photograph of Casey on the fireplace to unlock a clue.
- 17Clear the darkness obscuring the coffee mug on the profiling table for another clue.
- 18Go to the armchair in the corner and clear the darkness obscuring a card from Saga's mother for a third clue.
- 19Go to the bed and clear the darkness obscuring the charm bracelet for a fourth clue.
- 20Clear the darkness obscuring Saga's certificate of meritorious achievement above the manuscript desk for a fifth clue.
- 21Head to the sideboard and clear the darkness from the whisky bottles for a sixth clue.
- 22Return to the Case Board and place the clues that prove Saga is not a terrible mother, detective, and partner.
- 23Saga will realize her fears are preventing her from leaving. Open the "Other Saga" profile one last time.
- 24Select "I Am Leaving" to unlock a deduction. Place this against the "How Do I Leave?" question to mark the case as closed.
- 25The Mind Place will now function properly. To leave, walk out the door.
- 26You emerge in Caldera St. Plaza in the Dark Place with a ringing phone. Follow the sound to the phoneboxes in Ocean Avenue and answer it.
- 27The caller instructs you to go to the statue in the plaza and retrieve items from a shoebox.
- 28Follow the sound of humming up the street and around the edge of the plaza to find Tim Breaker sitting on a bench.
- 29Exhaust his conversation options. He will explain he was dragged to the Dark Place by Warlin Door and is unhelpful about finding Parliament Tower Plaza.
- 30Ask to see his manuscript page to receive the Door Traverses the Dark Place Manuscript Page (50/56).
- 31In the Mind Place, bring up the profile for Mr. Door and select the "Warlin Door" topic, followed by "Moving Through the Dark Place".
- 32Back in the Dark Place, enter the plaza and look for a green light above a door on the southern side.
- 33Grab supplies from the container next to the door and proceed through.
- 34Head down the stairs and through the door at the bottom to reach Parliament Tower Plaza station.
- 35Go down the platform and through the ticket barriers. Grab supplies from containers before heading up the steps back to the Dark Place.
- 36Make your way to the statue of Alan in the plaza and search the shoebox to find the Clicker and a Bullet of Light.
- 37After grabbing the items, enemies will attack. Deal with immediate threats and return to the ringing phone.
- 38The caller tells Saga that Alan doesn't have the ending and needs her help to finish the story.
- 39After the call, go to the light by the subway station entrance for safety from shadows.
- 40In the Mind Place, bring up Wake's profile and exhaust all available topics, noting more will appear as you progress.
- 41Saga and Wake will determine the ending must be faithful to the horror genre, based on story events, and require a price for a hero, but Saga insists Logan and Casey must survive.
- 42Back in the Dark Place, head down the steps into the subway station.
- 43Proceed along the platform and, after dealing with any Hostile Shadows, go back through the door you entered earlier.
- 44Head up the stairs and through the door at the top to return to Caldera St. Plaza.
- 45Tor and Odin will be by the fountain; you can now chat with them.
- 46Make your way to the fountain, and Saga will be transported to the Writer's Room, unlocking the End of the Road trophy.
- 47Alan will announce he has written the ending and reach for the Clicker, but Saga insists she must be the one to use it.
