Navigating the Reverse Caverns in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Learn about its unique features, connections, and potential glitches.
Alright, so you've made it to the Reverse Caverns. This place is pretty wild – it's literally an upside-down version of the Underground Caverns you've probably already explored. Keep an eye out for the crimson and purple hues in the architecture and rocky surroundings; it's quite a change of scenery. Some folks also call this the groundwater vein. You can get here from the Black Marble Gallery below, or through an underground hall in the Reverse Entrance. There's also a path leading up to the Cave area. Be aware, there are a couple of quirky things about this area. There's a glitch that can cause an upside-down wooden bridge to appear, potentially blocking your path to the Cave. Also, there's a weird loading zone near what looks like a Save Room. If you manage to glitch out of bounds and reach it, you'll be warped to a normal CD hall. Exiting that hall to the right can lead you to the normal Outer Wall, but the game might still think you're in the Reverse Castle – you'll hear the Reverse music and see the reverse map. Saving here will result in a glitched file name. Don't worry though, entering a different area or a Warp Room will fix things up. It's thought that this out-of-bounds zone might be a leftover from when Nightmare was intended to be in the Reverse Castle, but it ended up not appearing there.
