Walkthrough
- 1Journey to the Nexus
- This is the mandatory tutorial area for new players. It's recommended to play through it at least once for an easy start on gathering souls and restorative items. You can skip it on subsequent playthroughs.
- 2Outpost Passage: Proceed forward, interacting with glowing embers for control tips. Defeat enemies and break barrels/crates. Examine remains and enemy corpses for loot. You'll find Crescent Moon Grass and Crescent Moon Grass x3. Follow the path to an Archstone; ignore it for now and check the far right corner for Crescent Moon Grass x2 before using the Archstone to travel to Forlorn Outpost.
- 3Forlorn Outpost: Continue along the path, defeating enemies. Pick up Half Moon Grass and Unknown Warrior Soul from remains. The archer drops Crescent Moon Grass x3. After a large oven, you'll find another archer dropping Crescent Moon Grass x3 before a fog door.
- 4Split Path: Clear the fog door to reach a split path. Take the right path first to find Half Moon Grass x2. Then, head the opposite direction to the last foggy door.
- 5Vanguard Demon: Clearing the final fog door leads to the Vanguard Demon. You are intended to lose this fight. Do not waste items.
- 6The Nexus
- This is your main base of operations. As you progress, more NPCs will appear to offer services.
- 7Initial Arrival: You'll arrive with a Nexial Binding, allowing you to return to The Nexus (losing souls). Check fiery gameplay tips on the floor. Near the back-left staircase, you'll find several NPCs:
- Crestfallen Warrior: Explains the 5 Archstones (Boletarian Palace, Stonefang Tunnel, Tower of Latria, Shrine of Storms, Valley of Defilement). Only the Boletarian Palace Archstone is initially available.
- 8Stockpile Thomas: Manages your storage. You can send items here from anywhere and retrieve Deluxe Items if purchased.
- 9Blacksmith Boldwin: Repairs and sells equipment. He is a beginner blacksmith; Blacksmith Ed in 2-1 is needed for advanced upgrades. Consume Warrior/Hero Souls for more souls. Repair equipment regularly.
- 10Worshipper of God: Offers nothing initially. At 20 Faith, she gives a Pure Faintstone and Stone of Ephemeral Eyes x2.
- 11After Completing W1:1: The Maiden in Black will appear and ask you to visit the Monumental. The doors at the top of The Nexus will unlock.
- Monumental: Found by climbing to the topmost room and continuing up.
- 12Maiden in Black: Appears upon arrival after W1:1.
- 13Disciple of God, Acolyte of God, Freke's Apprentice: These NPCs also become available after completing W1:1.
Tips
- Play the 'Journey to the Nexus' tutorial at least once for early game advantages.
