Navigate Fairfax Tomb, discover the Potion of Transmogrification, and embark on the Gargoyle hunt in Fable II. Learn how to find legendary weapons and unlock secrets.
Alright, let's dive into Part 19 of our Fable II adventure! We've got a couple of interesting stops ahead, including a tomb with a unique potion and a massive hunt for those pesky Gargoyles.
Fairfax Tomb
First up, we're heading into the Fairfax Tomb. You'll encounter a door that requires you to activate a Flit Switch. Shoot it twice, then hit it directly, and the door will swing open. Inside, you'll find another room with a Flit Switch. This time, you'll need to use your Will power on it, and then shoot it three times. Once that's done, the next door will open, leading you to a very special room.
As soon as you enter, you'll hear an announcer mention a potion that can change your gender. This is the Potion of Transmogrification, and it's located on a table right in the middle of the room. Heads up: If you leave this room without drinking the potion, it'll disappear forever. So, make your choice wisely before proceeding!
Reward:
- Renown Points: 10000
- Trophy: Sex Change Souvenir
The Gargoyles Quest
Now, for a quest that you'll likely want to tackle after finishing the main story and most other side quests, so you have access to all areas: The Gargoyles. Once you shoot your very first Gargoyle, you'll officially get this quest and the Gargoyle Map.
The goal here is to find and shoot all 50 Gargoyles scattered throughout Albion. After you've taken them all down, you'll need to head to the Gargoyle Trove to claim your ultimate prize. You can access the Trove by using the Dive spot located under the bridge in Bowerstone Market.
Here's how it works: every time you shoot 10 Gargoyles, one of the five gates in the Gargoyle Trove will open. Behind each of these gates, you'll find a chest containing some goodies and a blue switch on the floor. Step on these switches to extend a bridge. Once all five switches are activated, the bridge will be complete, leading you to a chest on the other side.
Inside that chest, you'll find the Rotten Apple – don't get too excited, it's not the real reward! Instead, break the wall behind the chest and continue through the tunnel. You'll emerge into a circular room with another chest. Open it up, and you'll finally get your hands on The Rammer, a Legendary Weapon!
Contents of the first 5 chests:
- Dog Tricks! The Growl
- Potion of Life
- Emerald X3
- 10000 Gold
- Ghoul Augment
Interesting Places in Albion
Beyond the main quests, Albion is packed with interesting places to explore. Here are three notable spots:
1. Brightwood Farm
To access Brightwood Farm, you first need to complete the "Cold Comfort Farmer" side quest (after "The Hero of Will" story quest) and then "The Blind Date" side quest (after "The Spire" story quest). Once those are done for Farmer Giles, you can buy his farm in Brightwood. After buying it, you'll receive Giles's Letter. Head to the second floor of the farm and search a cupboard to find Giles's Portcullis Key.
Next, make your way to the large barn next to the farm – the one with all the sleeping sheets. In the back, you'll find the entrance to the Farm Cellar. Hold [A] to enter. Once inside, use [A] to open the portcullis. Continue through the hallways, dealing with any Hollow Men you encounter, until you reach a blue switch. Step on it to open a gate you passed earlier. Keep going, and you'll find another switch that opens a second gate you passed. Finally, you'll enter a large, sandy room where your dog will detect a Dig Spot. Dig there to unearth The Enforcer, another Legendary Weapon!
2. Archon's Knot
You can enter Archon's Knot after visiting the Bloodstone region at least once. Travel to Brightwood Tower and head up the stairs to the Cullis Gate. Look for a broken ledge nearby and vault off it to enter Archon's Knot.
You'll land in the water. Get out and head into the first room. On the right, in an alcove, you'll find a Flit Switch. Shoot it, and the gate will open. Go up the stairs into the next room, which is filled with pressure plates that trigger spikes. Shoot the Flit Switch on the left; the candles at the end of the room will light up, showing you the safe path across the spiked slabs. If the candles don't show the full path, you'll need to carefully follow the sequence: three safe slabs, then a gap, then three safe slabs, then a gap, then three safe slabs, then a gap, then three safe slabs. After navigating this, continue up the stairs, past an Animated Statue, and up more steps to a blue switch. Step on it to activate the statue. Return to the statue and use the Bloodlust Roar expression on it to deactivate it, releasing the Flit Switch from its cage. Now, quickly run back up the stairs and hit the Flit Switch. It will move, revealing the safe path across the slabs. Keep hitting it to make your way across safely. Then, go through the gate, up more stairs, and you'll exit into Brightwood. To your right, on a circular stone platform, there's a chest containing The Daichi.
3. Bloodstone Mansion
After completing the main story quests, you'll have the option to buy Bloodstone Mansion, Reaver's old house. It's definitely worth it! Upon purchasing it, you'll receive Reaver's Note. Search the furniture on the first floor, and you'll find a valuable item called A Pag...
