Walkthrough for AF700: Dying World in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Includes strategies for defeating Caius Ballad and Gogmagog, plus locations for items like White Cape and Golden Chocobo.
Walkthrough
- 1After the battle with Caius Ballad, proceed south to a large clearing. Check behind the walls for 1500 gil.
- 2Continue north towards The Farseers’ Relic. To your right, find a set of stairs leading to a treasure sphere containing a White Cape.
- 3Further north, look for a treasure cube behind a stone fence to the right, containing the ‘Promises’ Gate Seal (unlocks Time Reversal in AF4XX Academia).
- 4At The Farseers’ Relic, hug the right wall. At the end, turn southeast to find a stone fence hiding 8x Power Essence.
- 5After a scene at the monument, Noel and Serah are warped to The Border. Moogle Hunt is disabled.
- 6Approach Noel to be warped to The Dead Sands, then The Sandy Highlands, where Chocolina’s shop is located. Restock if necessary.
- 7Approach Noel again for the boss fight against Gogmagog.
- 8After defeating Gogmagog, answer the Live Trigger prompt. Collect the AF700 DYING WORLD FRAGMENT - Gogmagog Fragment Gamma (01/04) and 15000 CP from the Live Trigger Cube.
- 9Go south to The Dead Sands. In the western alcove (shaped like a hand), find an Obsidian Choker.
- 10Continue south, keeping the rock wall to your right, until you find a concealed treasure cube containing the Golden Chocobo.
- 11Head east to find another treasure containing 10x Vitality Essence.
- 12Go to The Farseers’ Relic, examine the pedestal, and talk to the moogle. Mog’s functions are restored.
- 13Return to The Farseers’ Settlement. West of where Noel fought Caius, use Moogle Throw on the treasure sphere behind a barrier to get a Phoenix Down.
- 14Return to The Farseers’ Relic and enter the spacetime distortion.
Tips
- Caius Ballad has only 5000 HP, making him easy to defeat. He can instantly remove accumulated CG, making Stagger difficult.
- Gogmagog applies debuffs to itself (Deshell, Defaith, Debrave, Fog, Deprotect, Pain) and then transfers them to you while also healing itself.
- Mog’s functions are restored after visiting The Farseers’ Relic and talking to the moogle.
