Forza Horizon 2 is the second installment in the Forza Horizon series, a spin-off from the Forza Motorsport series. Released on September 30, 2014, it was developed by Playground Games for Xbox One and Sumo Digital for Xbox 360. The Xbox One version utilizes the Forza Motorsport 5 game engine, while the Xbox 360 version is based on the original Forza Horizon engine.

Gameplay: The game is set in Southern France and Northern Italy, featuring a dynamic weather system and Drivatar AI. It emphasizes the integration of single-player and multiplayer aspects, allowing players to encounter Drivatars and switch to online play with other users. Players can also create Car Meets for races and car customization exchanges. The Perk system enhances gameplay, and the Xbox One version includes the Horizon Wheelspin.

Events: Forza Horizon 2 offers over 700 events, including barrier-less cross-country races for up to 12 players. Driving challenges are presented as "Bucket Lists," each requiring a specific vehicle found within the game world. New Bucket Lists are released or updated post-launch.

Versions: The Xbox 360 version has significant differences due to its weaker hardware. It lacks dynamic weather, has scaled-down graphics, missing water and dirt effects, and invisible walls. It also features 117 fewer cars but includes 3 exclusive ones. The Xbox 360 version has a different achievement list, a different title screen song, lacks Horizon Wheelspins, and did not receive DLCs or updates. It is also known to have more bugs and glitches.

Vehicles: The game features over 200 cars. A Porsche Expansion was released in 2015, adding over 10 Porsche vehicles, a Porsche-themed Bucket List, and achievements.

Downloadable Content: DLC for Forza Horizon 2 includes passes, car packs, expansions, bundles, and promotional packs. A standalone expansion, Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, was released on March 27, 2015.
