Learn how Forza Horizon 2 Rivals Mode works, a time trial against other players' ghost cars.
Rivals mode functions similarly to multiplayer, but instead of racing live opponents, you race against a ghost car. This ghost car cannot be hit; you will pass straight through it. The other player has already completed their race, and you are racing against a recording of their performance. Essentially, it's like racing your own ghost to improve your best lap time, but with another player's ghost.
This mode is not part of the career mode and is accessible from the main menu. When you get a new rival, you will receive an in-game message stating "New Rival Recommendation". The ghost car follows the exact path the other human player took.
- Focus on perfecting your racing line to shave off seconds from your lap time.
- Experiment with different car tunes to find what works best for beating specific rival times.
- Pay attention to the ghost car's movements to identify where they gained time.
