    Begin by moving Gris to the right. As she moves, the world will start to take shape.

    After a brief fall and subsequent collapse, Gris will gain the ability to jump.

    Optionally, backtrack to the left to find a small pillar and a collapsed statue. Stand near the statue and let Gris fall and get up without touching the controller to complete the 'First Stage of Grief: Denial' challenge. A notification will appear on the right corner of the screen.

    Continue moving right until you reach a giant rock. Ascend it and leap over the edge.

    Proceed forward until you find a small pulsing light, a Star. Approach it to absorb it; it will become a companion.

    Continue past where you collected the first Star. Look for crumbling platforms, marked by a tree with upside-down triangular leaves. Jump across these platforms to the left until you see a black mountain.

    Climb the black mountain. Shortly after starting, collect a second Star.

    Continue further to find a large gap. You will need more stars to bridge it.

    Climb the stairs on the left to find a large leaning tower. Ascend the zigzagging stairs to the top. Your two collected stars will automatically form a bridge.

    Use the bridge to collect a third Star from a smaller tower nearby.

    Before returning to the gap, mount the first staircase on the leaning tower and jump left. You will see a symbol, the first Memento. Pass over it to activate it.

    Return to the gap. Your three stars will form a bridge. Cross it and continue right until you reach a crumbling stone hand. A cutscene will play, and you will be notified of completing the 'Red - A Color Has Been Brought Back' challenge.

    Continue forward to a giant staircase leading to a temple. At the top, notice a pictogram on the back wall. If you activated the Memento, one symbol should be lit.

    Proceed forward until you reach a blood-red tree. Your star companions will form a constellation in the sky and leave you.

    Continue down the stairs and head right until you reach a black tower. Gris will automatically climb it, marking the completion of the prologue.

  • There are five stages of grief to complete throughout the game. Keep an eye out for opportunities to trigger them.
  • Mementos are collectible symbols found in each chapter. The first chapter has two, but one is obtained later.
  • The 'color' challenges are awarded upon completion of each chapter.
