Alright, so you've made your way up some stairs into another dark area. Keep your eyes peeled for support beams and any Infected lurking on the walls or floor. This is also your last chance to grab any ammo or weapon upgrades, so make sure you're stocked up!

Now, you might start hearing something faint – a girl crying. One of your buddies will probably tell you to turn off your flashlight (that's Up on the D-Pad, by the way). That crying means a Witch is nearby. Trust me, you do NOT want to tangle with her. If you spot her sobbing, just pretend you didn't see her. Seriously, don't even look her way unless you want a really bad time.

Here’s a pro tip for dealing with Witches: a close-range shotgun blast to the head can take her out in one shot, no matter how tough the difficulty. The best approach is to sneak up behind her. Just hold down the walk button to move quietly. If other Infected are around, toss a pipe bomb to distract them. When you get right behind her, she'll turn, stand up, and take a swing. This gives you a brief window to get a shot or two in.

If you're using a combat shotgun and miss that initial shot, start backing up and firing like crazy at her face. She'll usually go down before you run out of ammo, and hopefully without landing a hit on you. There are even videos online if you want to see it in action!
