Master Ridgerock Lake's XC Golf in Mario Golf: Super Rush with guides for lessons and challenges, including Tutorial 4's top spin.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Upon arriving at Ridgerock Lake in Mario Golf: Super Rush, you'll be introduced to special shots and XC Golf. You'll also learn that the area's tournament is not yet available.
  2. 2
You are instructed to practice XC Golf. A shop is available on the right if you wish to spend coin.
  3. 3
Before speaking to the NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) at the counter for XC Golf, explore the Practice area behind the shop for additional lessons and challenges. This is a worthwhile activity to gain experience and money.
  4. 4
Locate the blue speech bubble turtles; green turtles offer lessons, and red turtles offer challenges. Begin with the green turtles.
  5. 5
Speak to the green turtle near the blue flying turtle for a Top Spin lesson.
  6. 6
Tutorial 4: This tutorial requires you to score 40 points within 5 shots using Top Spin. Aiming directly at the hole with Top Spin will cause the ball to go too far. Aim slightly to the left, so the trajectory line is next to, but not in line with, the glowing line representing the hole. Use the Sand wedge. Hit the ball with Top Spin at approximately 90% power (about 10% lower than the maximum of the gauge). The slopes will cause the ball to move right when it lands near the hole, hence aiming left. If you have 4 curve gauge markers, aim just below 50% of the last one; otherwise, some trial and error may be needed. Aim to land on 8-10 points per shot to pass.
  7. 7
Speak to the next green turtle for a Back Spin lesson.
  8. 8
Tutorial 5: Score 40 points within 5 shots using Super Back Spin. This is very easy. Do not change your club or direction. Allow the power gauge to go slightly above the flag marker and use Super Back Spin. This will almost always land in the 10-point zone or go in the hole.
  9. 9
Speak to the three green turtles in the center area, starting from the left.
  10. 10
Tutorial 6: This tutorial focuses on wind directly opposing you, moving at 3 m/s. You have 9 shots to score over 70 points. For the first 3 shots, use the PW, fill the power gauge slightly above the flag, and use Super Back Spin. This will result in the ball going into the hole or the 10-point zone. For the next 3 shots, the wind increases to 6 m/s. Do the same as before but allow the power gauge to go higher than the flag. For the final 3 shots, the wind increases to 9 m/s. Increase the power even more above the flag, aiming for about 5% to 8% below the top of the gauge or just below the risk zone. This hole is manageable if you have already won the last tournament.
  11. 11
Speak to the middle green turtle.
  12. 12
Tutorial 7: This tutorial also involves wind, moving to the left. The game adjusts your direction, so you only need to focus on power. The wind strength increases, but the game applies course correction for each shot. For every shot, use Super Back Spin with the power gauge just barely below or above the flag marker.
  13. 13
Speak to the last green turtle.
  14. 14
Tutorial 8: This tutorial addresses wind blowing in your direction, increasing shot carry. You need 70 points within 9 shots, with wind increasing every 3 shots. For each shot, let the power gauge rise significantly before the flag. Use Back Spin and Super Back Spin for accuracy. After every 3 shots, decrease the power compensation to account for the increased carry. Some trial and error may be needed to find the correct power amount.
  15. 15
Once all lessons are completed, proceed to the challenges by speaking to the red turtles, starting from the leftmost one.
  16. 16
Challenge 4: Score 80 points within 10 shots. For the first 5 shots, use the 3W, adjust aim using the overhead view (minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen)) to reach the 10-point zone, and hit at near full power with Super Back Spin. For the last 5 shots, use the Driver, adjust the overhead aim to the right to reach the 10-point zone, and hit at near full power with Super Back Spin.
  17. 17
Speak to the middle red turtle.
  18. 18
Challenge 5: Score 80 points within 9 shots, aiming for the ball to be as close to the hole as possible. For the first 3 shots, there is a slope that will cause the ball to move away from the hole if it lands on outer parts or with back spin. Use Top Spin and a half shot with the PW, with power slightly above the flag marker. This should cause the ball to hit the pole and stop in the 10-point zone. For the next 3 shots, the elevation is lifted. Use Super Back Spin with power exactly on or around the base of the flag marker. This can be tricky and may require trial and error, but success is achieved as long as every shot is within the circle. For the last 3 shots, the elevation is...
Tips
  • Pay close attention to the power gauge and spin type required for each tutorial and challenge.
  • Utilize the overhead view (minimap) for precise aiming, especially in challenges.
  • Don't be afraid of a little trial and error, particularly when adjusting for wind or slopes.
  • Completing lessons before challenges can significantly improve your understanding and success rate.
