Defeat the True Metroid Prime in the Impact Crater. Learn boss attack patterns and Hyper Mode strategy in this Metroid Prime guide.
Walkthrough
- 1Enter the Impact Crater through the red door.
- 2In Crater Tunnel A, scan the Lumigeks and jump across hazardous red terrain.
- 3In the Phazon Core, avoid fighting Fission Metroids by using Bombs to shake them off or Power Bombs to destroy them. Use the Missile Recharge halfway up if needed. Reach the red door by platforming up the walls.
- 4Navigate the Spider track in Crater Tunnel B by bombing up or dropping down to different tracks.
- 5Proceed through the Phazon Infusion Chamber and into Subchamber One.
- 6Face the Worm (Metroid Prime) in Subchamber One. Its head is vulnerable only to beams matching its current color. Start with Super Missiles when it's yellow. Use Charged Wave Beam shots or the Wavebuster when it turns purple.
- 7In Subchamber Two, Metroid Prime will turn white, making it vulnerable to the Ice Spreader. Use the grooves in the floor to dodge its dash attack after it recoils.
- 8In Subchamber Three, Metroid Prime will cycle through all four colors randomly. Use quick Plasma shots for red.
- 9In Subchamber Four, Metroid Prime uses random attacks and rapid color changes. Be prepared for any attack. After its energy is depleted, it will crash through the wall into its lair.
- 10Automatically drop into the Metroid Prime Lair in Subchamber Five.
- 11Face the True Metroid Prime. It cannot be hurt by normal attacks. Jump over its red Wave Quake attack. Use the Thermal Visor, then X-Ray Visor, then visible sight to track it when it cloaks.
- 12Step into the Phazon pool created when True Metroid Prime points its tentacles at the floor to enter Hyper Mode.
- 13First, defeat the Metroids spawned by True Metroid Prime. Use Thermal or X-Ray Visor to locate True Metroid Prime if it's cloaked.
- 14Hold the button to release attacks in Hyper Mode on True Metroid Prime.
- 15True Metroid Prime will also spawn Hunter and Fission Metroids. The Phazon Beam in Hyper Mode will kill them in one hit.
- 16Keep track of True Metroid Prime using visors and learn the sound of the Wave Quake to know when to jump.
- 17After defeating True Metroid Prime, it will suck the Phazon out of your suit, and you will escape.
Tips
- In the Phazon Core, if a Fission Metroid is about to attack, morph into a ball and use a Bomb to shake it off.
- In Subchamber Two, after Metroid Prime recoils, it will dash forward instead of lunging. Get into the floor grooves and roll into a ball to reach the other side.
- In Hyper Mode, the Phazon Beam will kill spawned Metroids and Fission Metroids in one hit.
