Locate every Missile Expansion in Metroid Prime Remastered. This guide details their locations by required item and sector, helping you upgrade Samus's arsenal.
This table categorizes Missile Expansions in the order you can collect them, based on the items you've found up to that point. Please note this order below is not the order they're collected in the walkthrough.
| Sector | Room | Description |
| Missile Launcher Required | ||
| Chozo Ruins | Ruined Gallery | Near the floor of this room is a wall that can be destroyed with a Missile. |
| Tallon Overworld | Transport Tunnel B | There's a small land bridge over a mist. Walk into the mist and under the bridge. |
| Morph Ball Required | ||
| Tallon Overworld | Landing Site | Behind the Gunship is a miniature cave with Tangle Weed. Roll into it from either side. |
| Chozo Ruins | Watery Hall Access | Use a Missile on the brick wall near the bottom of this room. |
| Morph Ball Bombs Required | ||
| Chozo Ruins | Burn Dome | Behind the Incinerator Drone is a small Sandstone wall blocking a tunnel. |
| Chozo Ruins | Ruined Nursery | Visible on the wall at the end of a small set of tunnels. Make sure to bomb all the blocks to clear the way. |
| Chozo Ruins | Ruined Gallery | In this room are two holes on the wall. Spring Ball into either of them. |
| Chozo Ruins | Ruined Shrine | In the arena where you fought Beetles, find a small stone wall and bomb it. |
| Chozo Ruins | Vault | Solve the vault puzzle in this room by entering and bombing all three "locks" on the vault door. You'll need to use Spring Ball and Bomb Jumps to reach all three. |
| Charge Beam Required (kind of) | ||
| Chozo Ruins | Dynamo | In the Watery Hall, next to where the Charge Beam was taken is a small stone wall blocking a tunnel to be bombed. In the Dynamo room, destroy the metal grate with a Missile. |
| Varia Suit Required | ||
| Magmoor Caverns | Storage Cavern | This room is connected to the Triclops Pit. Roll under the grating and go to the back right corner to find the tunnel to this room. |
| Magmoor Caverns | Fiery Shores | This is on top of the catwalks above the larger lava pool. To get there, clear the crates halfway through the room blocking the wall groove that leads you up to the catwalks. Careful while navigating them. |
| Boost Ball Required | ||
| Chozo Ruins | Ruined Shrine | Roll up the halfpipe in this room to the right (from the camera view) to find this at the top. |
| Chozo Ruins | Main Plaza | Roll up the halfpipe in this room to the obvious open pocket with the Expansion in it. |
| Space Jump Boots Required | ||
| Chozo Ruins | Gathering Hall | From the entrance to the Energy Core near the top, you'll need to double jump to a ledge and then back to above the entrance itself. Bomb the metal wall and enter. |
| Phendrana Drifts | Research Lab Aether | From the bottom floor, this is visible on the ceiling beneath the upper area. From the ramps you can jump to the path hanging beneath, and then you'll have to carefully maneuver along the ball path. |
| Super Missile Required | ||
| Chozo Ruins | Main Plaza | There's a petrified tree near the door to the Ruins Entrance. Blast the exposed light-colored wood section on it with a Super Missile to uncover this. You'll likely have to jump into this spot from higher up. |
| Phendrana Drifts | Research Lab Hydra | One of the tanks in this lab is completely dark and opaque. It's right next to a glass tank with a Metroid. Blast the tank with a Super Missile. |
| Spider Ball Required | ||
| Phendrana Drifts | Ice Ruins East | There's a difficult-to-find Spider Ball track in this room. Climb to the roofs of the ruins and look at your minimap to see a little piece of map jutting out of the edge. Go to that spot and search carefully to find a track that you can ride up. |
| Phendrana Drifts | Phendrana Shorelines | Go to the walls leading to the Chozo Ice Temple. One of the wall hangings can be destroyed with a Super Missile. Scan the icon behind it to open up the nearby tower, which reveals a Spider Ball track that leads to the expansion. |
| Chozo Ruins | Ruined Fountain | Roll into the fountain as a ball and you'll be launched to the ceiling. Connect to the track on the ceiling and ride it to the expansion. |
| Chozo Ruins | Dynamo | Remember this room is connected to the Watery Hall via a bombable wall. There's an obvious Spider Ball track in this room that leads to the expansion. |
| Chozo Ruins | Crossway | This is found using the halfpipe in this room to its full extent. Start by blasting the Cordite wall hanging and scanning the icon behind it, then boost up the halfpipe to the revealed Spider Ball track and bomb off it to the Morph Ball Slot. That slot will activate a second track where you'll do the same thing, and the slot for that activate a little elevator to ride up to the expansion. |
| Ice Beam Required | ||
| Tallon Overworld | Overgrown Cavern | This room is connected to a transport from Chozo Ruins and requires the Ice Beam to access. The easiest way to get here is go to the Reflecting Pool in Chozo Ruins and then to the nearby Save Station, then enter the little ball tunnel in the Save Station room that will lead you to the "secret" transport to Tallon Overworld. The expansion itself is easily found right in your path. |
| Gravity Suit Required | ||
| Chozo Ruins | Watery Hall | The water in this room has a deep point in the far corner. Sink down, walk through the tunnel and jump out the other side. |
| Tallon Overworld | Frigate Crash Site | This is in the water, quite visible once you have the Gravity Suit. A simple Space Jump in the water can reach the expansion with little trouble. |
| Tallon Overworld | Biohazard Containment | In the lower part of this room, pull up your Scan Visor to find a door that can be destroyed with a Super Missile. The expansion is right behind it. |
| Phazon Mines | Main Quarry | This expansion requires using the crane. Climb up the ledges and platforms in this large room to reach the roof of the crane. On the crane arm housing itself, pull up your Thermal Visor to find a conduit to power with your Wave Beam. This powers up the en |
