Walkthrough
- 1Speak to Kanya in Scarlet Forest by the pond to accept the quest. You must have completed the 'Fishing: Life, In Microcosm' quest and the story mission '4-1, New Ecosystems' first.
- 2Fast travel to a nearby pop-up tent.
- 3Change the time to Dusk or Dawn and the environment to 'Plenty'. We recommend Dusk for better luck.
- 4Head to the Oasis (Area 13) in Windward Plains. Teleport to the Area 13: West or Area 13: Oasis Campsite.
- 5Enter the tent and go to the 'BBQ Menu' (fourth tab). Select 'rest' to change the environment and time of day using 300 Guild Points.
- 6Exit the tent and make your way to the water.
- 7Equip your fishing rod and change the bait to Emerald Jitterbait (press + / ). The Gravid Bowfin favors this bait.
- 8Look for a large, reddish-orange fish. This is the Gravid Bowfin.
- 9If the fish doesn't appear, travel to another map and return to refresh the spawns.
- 10Once you catch the Gravid Bowfin, return to Kanya in Scarlet Forest to hand it over.
Tips
- The Gravid Bowfin is the assumed male counterpart to the Vivid Bowfin.
- While it can be found at dawn, dusk has yielded better results in testing.
- If you have trouble finding the fish, try changing maps and returning to reset spawns, as they are 100% guaranteed to appear under the correct conditions.
