The Chatacabra is an amphibian monster in Monster Hunter Wilds known for using its long tongue to seize prey. Its forelimbs store a sticky mucus, which it uses to collect stone and ore when agitated, enhancing its attacks.

Chatacabra Weaknesses and Breakable Parts

How to Defeat Chatacabra

The Chatacabra has straightforward attacks that can be avoided by dodging to the side or away. Staying near its rear is generally the safest strategy. Its slams and two-legged attacks can be blocked or countered with good timing, as can its side swipes and tongue attacks.

Be wary of its charge that can pin you to a wall and its damaging leap, both of which are clearly telegraphed. As the fight progresses, target weakened parts like the legs, head, and rear with Focus Attacks. If the Chatacabra rubs its limbs on the ground and roars, it is powering up, making its parts more susceptible to breaking.
