Gunpowder

Gunpowder is a crucial item for crafting higher-level ammunition and powerful Barrel Bombs in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. To craft Gunpowder, you will need to farm Fire Herbs and Nitroshrooms.

Nitroshrooms are most commonly found in the Wildspire Waste region and occasionally in warmer areas of the Ancient Forest. Fire Herbs are located near the shore of the Ancient Forest, close to Kestodon packs, and can also be found in the Wildspire Waste and other regions.

Barrel Bomb

Barrel Bombs function as simple small time bombs that are placed on the floor and explode after a short delay. They are effective when used while retreating from monsters, allowing you to place them on the ground as you evade. Barrel Bombs can inflict considerable damage and are useful for dealing extra damage during large monster fights or boss battles. Many players utilize them in both quality and quantity to make fights easier.

Bounce Bomb

Bounce Bombs, when used, bounce straight up into the air from the ground. Your character can bounce off them, and they may also affect certain enemy types. While they can be difficult to use effectively, they introduce a new mechanic to combat.

Large Barrel Bomb

Large Barrel Bombs deliver a strong attack with a considerable blast radius. They can be crafted using gunpowder and a Large Barrel. At certain points in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, all Barrel Bombs, including Bounce, Small, and Mega Bounce Barrel Bombs, become purchasable from the Provisions Stockpile Merchant. Two merchants are located in Astera: one on the Tradeyards level and another on the 4th Floor, Gathering Hub. These merchants also sell the Barrels required for crafting these explosives. The second material for crafting is typically found in the field or various regions of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Flash Pod

Flash Pods can be crafted for one Flash Bug each. Flash Bugs are found in abundance in many areas of the Ancient Forest. These pods are highly valuable as they can blind numerous enemies, including large monsters, with a single shot from the Slinger (a tool used to launch items). Be mindful that Flash Bugs can be rare, so conserve Flash Pods for critical moments.

Screamer Pod

Screamer Pods are primarily obtained from the Noios Wingdrake enemy, found within the Wildspire Waste region. These enemies are best defeated using raw meats or ranged weapons. Screamer Pods can stun enemies and larger monsters for a few seconds, though they do not have the same blinding effect as Flash Pods. While not all monsters are susceptible, they are effective in various situations. Screamer Pods are crafted using Scream Sacs, which can be carved from a defeated Noios.

Raw Meat

Raw Meat is a fundamental item in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, present since the first Monster Hunter game. It can sometimes be carved from larger animals.
