Pacific Drive Part 17 walkthrough: rescue the American pilot and get your men to the exit zone, dealing with light initial opposition and heavier AA emplacements.
Walkthrough
- 1Start at the southwest corner of the map and head northeast through the jungle-marsh. Divide your team into a covering fire pair and an advancing pair, using leapfrog tactics.
- 2Proceed northeast past tall reeds and between two large pools. Eliminate two guards in the brush and two more across the pool to the west.
- 3Continue northeast along the west side of the farther pool until you see a road. Eliminate the patrolling SMG-guard on this road.
- 4Stay in cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) on the left side of the road and proceed northeast. Eliminate the solo Type 99 guard in the sandbagged guard station under air-cover camouflage. You will find a Type 99, an extra magazine, and two first aid kits.
- 5Veer west towards a ridge that opens to a small plateau. Continue northeast along the west edge.
- 6When the path narrows, eliminate the two swordsmen hiding in the reeds by flanking them.
- 7Proceed to the sandbagged emplacement on the road between the pools. Eliminate the Type 99 guard, collect first aid kits and grenades.
- 8Deal with the sniper hidden to the northeast of this emplacement, near the reeds east of the pool.
- 9Consolidate your position at the sandbags and continue northeast along the middle 'finger lake'.
- 10Split your team to go around the lake in opposite directions. Advance with the west-side team first.
- 11On the east side of the lake, eliminate the two Arisaka-wielding guards in the sandbag position. Collect an Arisaka with scope, more first aid kits, and grenades.
- 12Bring your west-side team across the ford in the lake to join the east-side team at the sandbags.
- 13Continue northeast towards the AA emplacements. Each gun is guarded by two or three guards, and two patrolling tanks must be watched out for. A demolition expert is a necessity, a sniper makes life easier, and a good rifleman and machinegunner provide excellent fire support.
- 14Destroy all AA guns.
- 15Head northwest towards the exit zone. The downed airman is on the way to the exit zone and can be found and brought to safety.
- 16Ensure all of your men reach the exit zone.
Tips
- Enemy opposition is initially light, consisting of Katana-chargers, sandbag emplacements with Type 99 guards, and scattered patrols.
- Be alert for hidden snipers in undergrowth patches.
- Once you reach the Antiaircraft (AA) gun area, opposition becomes much heavier with multiple guards per gun and patrolling tanks.
- Consider using a demolition expert, sniper, rifleman, and machinegunner for the heavier opposition around the AA guns.
- Use cover effectively, especially around the AA emplacements.
- The downed airman is located on the path to the exit zone.
