Part 21

Defeat four ninjas in the lower area, grab their souls, armor, gold, and ammo. Proceed to the first checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death).

Use your painkiller (a temporary invincibility power-up) until you reach the opera house auditorium to easily collect souls. Avoid killing ninjas off edges to prevent soul loss.

Collect stakes from the bottom and go upstairs to the roof.

Engage ninjas on the roof, letting them come to you and killing them against a wall to prevent souls from falling through gangways. Grab shotgun ammo.

Proceed to the next set of stairs, letting ninjas come up and shotgunning them at the corner.

Secret 2: At the bottom of these stairs, quick-jump through railings to find a secret area containing a mega ammo pack, health, and ammo.

Proceed to the second checkpoint, requiring 27 souls collected.

Focus on clearing ninjas leaping from balconies.

Defeat the evil samurai that appear, hurling fireballs.

After defeating most samurai, big boxes will explode, releasing lokhis and spiders that multiply quickly.

Be aware that the chandelier may drop unpredictably.

The best area to fight enemies is on top of the metal stairs with ammo packs. Shotgun close enemies and jump off occasionally to grab souls. Alternatively, run around to collect souls. Health can be found in boxes near a scaffold.

Secret 3: Quick-jump onto one of the boxes around the stage to reach a secret area with mega ammo packs from the backdrop support.

Proceed to the third checkpoint, requiring 70 souls collected.

Grab ammo in the corner and hurry up the stairs. Use grenades to clear ninjas if they are grouped together. Watch for ninjas falling over banisters and collect all souls. Avoid exploding fire extinguishers on the wall.

Collect ammo at the top and bottom of this area.

Proceed to the fourth checkpoint, requiring 84 souls collected.

From the high gallery, you can drop to lower levels or the stage. Find weird paintings in another stairwell.

Alternatively, pick up ammo packs and run to the far end of the high gallery. Find armor and health down a dead-end set of stairs near the elevator shaft.

Proceed to the fifth checkpoint.

Work your way down the staircase, keeping samurai at a distance. Use grenades and collect souls.

More samurai will spawn at the bottom; bait them onto the stairs and use your grenade launcher.

Secret 4: On the top landing at the start of the stairs, quick-jump onto the banister, then onto a pillar at the corner, and then up archways above the pillar to reach a holy item. This is a difficult secret area.

Proceed to the sixth checkpoint, requiring 106 souls collected.

Defeat a few more samurai and ninjas at the bottom. Return to the auditorium to defeat the lone ninja guarding the next checkpoint.

Proceed to the seventh checkpoint, requiring 114 souls collected.

Grab health behind a sandwich board and ammo. Enter the final room containing lokhis and evil samurai, with ammo behind stairs and boxes.

Bait lokhis into a group on the stairs and use grenades to eliminate them.

Head up the stairs to defeat the samurai.

You may have a second Demon Morph (a temporary power-up) if enough souls are collected, which helps against the next wave of evil samurai. Bait them onto the stairs and use grenades. This is a good area to use your cards (special abilities).

Watch out for destructible pillars near upper banisters that can be toppled to block pursuing monsters.

The final tarot condition requires 151 souls collected.
