Your friendly guide to the 'Journey outside the airlock' mission in Ratchet & Clank (2016). Learn how to navigate the Blarg Tactical Research Station and get the Magneboots!

Alright, so you're on the Blarg Tactical Research Station in Nebula G34, and it's time for a little spacewalk, sort of. This mission, 'Journey outside the airlock,' is where Clank gets to shine solo for a bit. Ratchet can't handle the vacuum of space without an O2 Mask, so Clank's heading out to grab a gadget from the station's exterior. Let's get him suited up! From the landing pad, just head left and interact with that little cage. This sends Clank out to the exterior. Once the elevator comes down, you'll have to deal with some alien swarmers. After that, step on the green floor switch to open up the airlock. Inside, you'll find a springbot. Grab it and toss it towards the ledge on the left. This will get you up to a higher level where you can snag a gadget upgrade chip. Now, jump back down, grab that springbot again, and hold down the Triangle button to turn it into a powerbot. You'll need to throw this powerbot at the generator to open the next door. In the area after that, you'll find a bridgebot. Toss this one towards the edge to create a walkway to the other side. On that next platform, grab another gadget, turn it into a bridgebot, and make a path to the platform on the left. Clear out any more swarmers, grab the third gadget, and then reconfigure your bridges. Use one bridgebot to reach the final platform, and then use one powerbot to power up the machine at the end of that path. For the final puzzle room, you'll need to turn a gadget into a springbot to reach a high ledge with another bot. Turn this second bot into a powerbot and toss it at the wall generator to open the door. Grab your springbot back and turn it into a second powerbot. You'll need to keep the door powered from the other side so you can bring the first powerbot through to the final room. With both powerbots ready to juice up the two machines, head into the chamber to grab the Magneboots. Once you pick those up, a blue bridge will appear, letting Clank get back to Ratchet and wrap up this mission. Nice work!
