Walkthrough
- 1The Monolith: This structure appears at the start of the game or via the 'Strange Signal' quest. Investigating it activates it, allowing more entities to appear and granting access to the Entity Codex. Monolith levels increase by discovering entities, with higher levels spawning more dangerous threats.
- 2Entities: These are the primary threats. Most appear after the monolith is investigated. They can be studied by incapacitating them and placing them in containment cells, which advances the Anomaly Tech Tree.
- 3Ambient Horror: A game mode where the monolith does not appear, and Anomaly threats are rare. This mode is good for experiencing Anomaly content without it being the main focus, but the monolith endgame is not possible.
- 4Anomaly Settings: The frequency of major anomaly threats can be adjusted in custom difficulty settings. Default settings are 8% when the monolith is inactive and 30% after investigation. Minor incidents are not affected.
- 5Basic Entities: These include the Void monolith, Harbinger tree, Fleshbeast, Sightstealer, Shambler, Ghoul, Gorehulk, and Death pall. Each has unique characteristics and threats.
Tips
- Monitor the Entity Codex to track discovered threats and understand their tiers.
- Incapacitate entities carefully for study, as some can split or have unique defenses.
- Consider using the Ambient Horror setting if you want a less intense Anomaly experience or wish to integrate its elements gradually.
- Adjust Anomaly threat frequency in custom difficulty to match your desired challenge level.
