Enhance your capabilities in Rustler by completing quests and increasing weapon proficiency with swords and other medieval armaments.

While Rustler doesn't feature a traditional skill tree or character classes, Guy does improve over time through various means. Your progression is primarily tied to completing quests, earning money, and acquiring better equipment. There are, however, some subtle ways to enhance your capabilities:

• Weapon Proficiency: The more you use a certain weapon type (e.g., sword, crossbow), the more comfortable you become with its attack patterns and timing. While not explicitly tracked, you'll notice an improvement in your combat effectiveness.
• Horse Riding: Spending time on horseback improves your control and maneuverability. Upgrading your horse at a 'Pimp-a-Horse' stable also significantly boosts its speed and stamina.
• Armor & Weapons: The most direct form of progression is acquiring superior gear. Better swords deal more damage, and stronger armor reduces more incoming damage. Always prioritize upgrading your equipment when you have the funds.
• Consumables: Learning which consumables to use and when is a skill in itself. Health potions are obvious, but understanding the utility of other items like throwable weapons or temporary buffs can turn the tide of a difficult fight.
• Perks (from specific quests): Some main story quests might unlock passive abilities or permanent buffs for Guy. These are usually tied to significant story milestones. Keep an eye out for these rewards as they can be quite powerful.

Focus on completing quests to earn money and unlock new areas. This will naturally lead to opportunities for better gear and a stronger Guy. Don't be afraid to experiment with different weapon types to find what suits your playstyle best.
