When a Swarm flies in front of Alex, hit it with a melee weapon.
When a Swarm attaches to Alex, mash the B button to make Alex grab it, then tap the button that appears on the screen to throw the captured bug to the ground and destroy it.

Try to squash Swarms when they are grouped together, as Alex will step on multiple bugs at once.
