Cottorinth Mountain Pass

Soon after leaving Cotto, you will receive a message from Welch, initiating the Welch the Engineer Quest if you completed Welch the Smithy Quest.

This quest can be completed immediately, unlocking Engineering in Item Creation.

After meeting Theo, view new Private Actions in Cotto by moving far enough into the Cottorinth Region to trigger a dialogue scene, then return to Cotto.

Head for the Cottorinth Region and exit north to the Cottorinth Mountain Pass.

As you enter, a message will warn you that some paths are blocked by thorns requiring DUMA or a Field Skill to destroy.

Follow the path, stopping to destroy thorns as indicated by Next Destination markers.

When you reach a fork, take the tunnel northeast.

At the dead end of the northeast tunnel, you will battle Enigma Worm x5.

Proceed toward the Next Destination, a side tunnel on the left.

Outside this tunnel entrance, collect items from three Collection Points and gather DUMA Point Crystals.

The tunnel leads to another dead end where you will encounter Enigma Worm x10.

Continue on the main route.

In the next open area, a scene will occur.

The dead-end tunnel to the east is filled with poisonous air; a chest inside contains Blueberry Potion x2. Retrieve it quickly as you take damage over time within the poisonous area.

Follow the trail as it curves east into an open area.

After defeating the enemies in this area, enter the poisonous mist-filled tunnel to the east.

Retrieve a Healing Device from the chest at the dead end of this tunnel and return to the open area.

Fly up to a ledge on the south wall of the open area [A].

Defeat the enemies on this ledge to access a new area.

This ledge system circles the open area via plateaus.

Find a Collection Point near where you fought enemies on the ledge.

Across the open area to the north, you can see DUMA Point Crystals to collect.

Head northwest along the ledge and cross a land bridge over the path below.

Collect DUMA Point Crystals on the left side of this trail.

To proceed, fly up to a higher plateau to the east, collecting more DUMA Point Crystals along the way.

On the south side of this plateau, drop down to a smaller ledge below to collect more DUMA Point Crystals.

At the east edge of the plateau, fly up to a higher level, collecting DUMA Point Crystals en route.

A Collection Point is located on this level.

Continue northeast to find large thorny vines blocking the path. Destroying these thorns opens the way forward on the ledge and clears a path on the trail below.

Proceed through the cleared narrow pass, collecting DUMA Point Crystals as you move to the next open area.

Continue east to a dead end containing a chest with Aquaberry Potion x2.

Explore small caves with Breakables off side paths.

Between the current location and the land bridge at the beginning of this trail, there are two lines of floating DUMA Point Crystals. Fly to collect one line, which will land you back in the open area below. You will need to return to the ledge to collect the crystals in the other line.
