A complete walkthrough for Delryk Village in Star Ocean: The Divine Force, detailing item locations, quests, and story progression.

It is night when you arrive in Delryk Village. After the entrance scene, move west for another scene outside the Inn. The order of business for tomorrow is established. You might as well rest at the Inn for the night and begin exploring Delryk in daylight. In the morning, talk to the Nosy Man outside the Inn to learn where to find the iatrimancer's infirmary. It is up a hill in the west part of town. Before you go, you can check out the rest of the town.

Items and Collection Points:

  • Chest 1: Sacrificial Doll x1
  • Chest 2: Gold x1
  • Chest 3: Linen Cuirass x1
  • Chest 4: Chisato (Pawn)
  • Chest 5: Secret Spice x1
  • Chest 6: Fire Charm x1
  • Collection Points: Sacrificial Doll, Roly-Poly Bean, Panacea Leaf, Iron, Wool, Lodestone, Ancient Coin, Shoddy Paper
  • Breakables: Fol, Sacrificial Doll, Roly-Poly Bean, Panacea Leaf, Iron, Wool, Lodestone, Ancient Coin

Begin at the town entrance. Fly over a partial wall north of the entrance plaza to reach the northeast corner of town. There are several Breakables in the area along with a chest that contains Sacrificial Doll x1.

Just north of the entrance plaza is a row of four buildings. There are some DUMA Point Crystals on the roof of the west building. Head west of the Inn down the avenue on its north side. Stop in front of the building east of the Item Shop. Check behind the bushes for a chest that holds Gold x1.

A row of buildings similar to those north of the plaza borders the plaza on the south. The roof of the east building has three DUMA Point Crystals. Atop the taller buildings to the west, you find both some normal DUMA Point Crystals and a large one.

From the west end of this row of buildings, you can fly north to a watchtower. Reach the top level and open the chest there to get a Linen Cuirass.

Drop down from the top of the tower, collecting some DUMA Point Crystals from the tower interior and touching a Collection Point on one of the cross bars as you fall.

There is another chest on top of a watchtower to the southwest, but this tower is much taller. Head up the long stairs, all the way to the top. From the roof of the building at the top of the stairs, you can fly southeast to the top of the tower. You will need to get a running jump before activating VA (Variable Air dash) in order to fly far enough to reach the tower. Open the chest on top of the tower to get a Chisato, another game piece.

From the roof of the same building, you can reach DUMA Point Crystals on two suspended ore buckets and fly from them to a Collection Point on a distant tower.

At the bottom of the long stairs, enter the building west of the stairway. A chest inside has Secret Spice x1. Across the main street north is Delryk's Item Shop. You can upgrade the party's weapons and armor, and stock up on recovery items. Although he doesn't have many, check out the proprietor's Shop Orders, too.

Quests:

  • Why Is It Only Me?: Offered by the Undaunted Explorer standing at the northwest pillar in the entrance plaza. It is recommended to postpone this quest.
  • Delryk Oddball: Offered by the Particular Craftsman in the alley southwest of the Inn. This quest cannot be completed until later in the game.

To continue with the story, go up the long stairway across from the Item Shop. After the stairway turns west, take the side road north. The Infirmary is on the west side of the street. Before going inside, continue north and cross the elevated walkway to the building with the sign in the shape of a huge hand. You can go inside the building but there is nothing to see now. However, there is a Collection Point on the east side of the building and a chest on the roof. The chest by the Hand sign holds a Fire Charm.

Head back the way you came and enter the Infirmary to trigger a scene. After the scene, follow Nina up the stairs toward the entrance to the Delryk Mines.

When you reach Nina another scene will play and you will have to battle Enigma Worm x3. These are not bosses, just regular enemies in a scripted battle. A tutorial suggests that because they have no eyes, these worms cannot be Blindsided. Despite that limitation, you shouldn't have any trouble taking them down.

The scene continues after your fight. Your next step is to go through the door north and look for the iatrimancer, Marquis Yzen, in the Delryk Mines.
