Your friendly guide to Super Mario Galaxy 2 Part 2! Learn controls, characters, and get started with the walkthrough for Sky Station Galaxy. Let's-a go!
Hey there! Welcome back to our Super Mario Galaxy 2 adventure. This section is all about getting you up to speed with the game's basics and diving into the first few galaxies. Think of this as your friendly nudge in the right direction!
A Quick Note on Directions: You'll notice I sometimes use shorthand like "#x" to mean "number of times." So, "2x" just means do something twice. Easy peasy!
- Grab that Luma early on – it's key to flying through space!
- The World Map is your gateway to all the galaxies.
- Don't be afraid to revisit old galaxies; new surprises, like Comets, often pop up.
- Keep an eye out for Mailtoad – he's got letters from Luigi!
- Hungry Lumas on the World Map are your ticket to secret galaxies.
- Beating Bowser and Bowser Jr. is how you earn Grand Stars.
- After you've beaten Bowser, go back and find all the Green Stars.
- To unlock the Grandmaster Galaxy comet star, you'll need to deposit 9,999 Star Bits with Banktoad.

Let's Get Walking: The Walkthrough Begins!
Prologue:
After you start a new game and watch the intro, you'll take control of Mario. Grab the Star Bits and coins, maybe jump on a few Toads for fun, then head right past the pipe. You'll find a white Luma who's about to join your crew. Keep going right, spinning the Wii Remote at the crystals for more Star Bits. Head into the castle… uh oh, it's Bowser! He's nabbed Princess Peach. Head forward to meet two yellow Lumas who'll help your white Luma friend create a Master Luma. They'll then create a Launch Star for you. Follow it along!
World 1: Sky Station Galaxy
Mission: Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum
Alright, you've landed! First things first, grab the coins and Star Bits from the flowers and the Goomba chilling here. See that red pipe on the left? It leads to a 1-Up. Grab it and come back. Now, use the green pipe on the left to enter a new area. Grab more goodies, including the ? box to your right. Keep heading right until you reach a ramp on the middle platform. Spin at the crystal and drop into the hole – you'll land on the roof of the last area's platform. Find the second Luma (it'll say "Over here!") and use its Launch Star. Follow the Luma, dodging those rock-spitting enemies. Head up, then right. You'll see some yellow platforms that disappear after a short time, so hop on them quickly! Backflip to grab a 1-Up if you time it right with the platform, then make your way to the checkpoint flag.
At the back of this area, there's a ? coin that reveals musical notes. Follow them to the right, and you'll find three 1-Ups. Make sure to grab the rightmost one first! Spin at the rocks for more Star Bits. Go past the platform you just used and head towards the bonus portal. Stand on it and shake the Wii Remote to reach a bonus area. Here, you'll use a Rainbow Star to blast all the enemies, earning you 3 extra lives in the middle. Back in the main area, climb the platform you passed earlier, then head up to the pillar. Ride the yellow platforms (remember, they disappear!) to reach the next Launch Star. Jump right to the grey planet and use the Sling Star. Don't worry about the first one you see; keep going!
