BOSS: KTUGACH/KTUGACHLING X2

Learn how to defeat the Ktugach and Ktugachling X2 bosses in Tales of Symphonia. Get tips on party setup, weaknesses, and strategy for Triet Ruins.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Ktugach: HP: 5,000, TP: 50, ATK: 300, DEF: 28. Weak to Water and Ice. Strong against Fire. Drops Red Quartz.
• Ktugachling (x2): HP: 1,500, TP: 180, ATK: 130, DEF: 40. Weak to Water and Ice. Strong against Fire.

Phases:

1. Defeat the two Ktugachlings.
2. Defeat the Ktugach.

Strategy:

• If you have Genis in your party, deactivate all his spells except Aqua Edge. For Kratos, deactivate Fire Ball.
• Your party composition matters! A good setup is Lloyd, Raine, Colette, and Kratos.
• Assign Kratos and Raine to healing duties. You and Colette should focus on attacking.
• Priority Target: Always take out the Ktugachlings first. They might have less HP, but their magic can quickly overwhelm your party.
• Dealing with Ktugach: Once the Ktugachlings are down, turn your attention to the main Ktugach. He likes to put up his defense, so keep up the pressure with all four characters to break it.

After the battle, you'll witness a scene where Colette gets wings and learns the Angel Feathers tech. Head back to the entrance of the Triet Ruins, and another scene will trigger, leading you to a Camping Spot. Talk to anyone you like, and then speak to Colette twice to end the camping sequence.

Your next destination is Palmacosta, but you'll need to traverse Ossa Trail first. Before heading out, make a stop in Triet to restock at the Traveler's Mate. A scene will occur upon entering Triet, granting Raine the title "Sisterly Love." Afterward, stay at the Inn for another scene. When you're ready to leave Triet, head directly east to find Ossa Trail.

As you enter Ossa Trail, a scene will start after a few steps. Feel free to choose any dialogue option you prefer. Ossa Trail is pretty linear, so getting lost shouldn't be an issue. Follow the path, and be sure to grab the 'Battle Staff' from the chest. When you reach an area where you can see the sky, indicating you're at the top, take the southern path at the fork to find chests containing 'Apple Gel' and 'Melange Gel.' Save your game here, then continue down the hill. Near the bottom, grab the 'Orange Gel' from another chest, and prepare yourself – a boss battle awaits!
