BOSS: ZELOS WILDER

Learn how to defeat Zelos Wilder in Tales of Symphonia. Includes his HP, stats, elemental weaknesses, and strategy for the Tower of Salvation.

• ATK: 1,150
• DEF: 365
• XP: 9,300
• Gald: 9,800
• Items dropped: Mystic Symbol
• Steal: None
• Elemental Info: Weak to None, Strong against lightning and Light.

Strategy:

• Zelos Wilder has a large amount of HP and utilizes all of his former tech attacks, plus some new ones.
• Do not hesitate to use all of your items if necessary; the guide author used approximately 8 Life Bottles on Lloyd alone.
• When Zelos Wilder enters Over Limit, he can cast spells without charge time.
• Make good use of the guardian Skill.
• The author notes that after using around 20 Life Bottles, 15 Orange Gels, and 18 Apple Gels, Zelos Wilder will be defeated.

After the Battle:

1. After the battle and the subsequent scene, you will be in a new room. Save your game.
2. Proceed N, and at the fork, use the Sorcerer's Ring on the branch blocking the path to enter the next area.
3. Jump across to the walkway. After a scene, get 'Diamond Shell' from the chest.
4. Go N and up the stairs. Jump on the walkway again, run across, and jump down at the end.
5. From there, go E and exit the area.
6. Start moving S until you reach a fork; take E to get 'Southern Cross', 'Hanuman's Staff', and 'Ogre Ax' from the chests.
7. Return to the fork and make your way NW, burning any branches you find. Go up the stairs at the end.
8. Upstairs, go S and use the terminal to open the door beside it.
9. Return and go up the stairs. Follow the path to a wide area.
10. Go S and get 'Heavenly Robe' from the chest.
11. Return to the wide area and go NE, following the path to a fork. Take N to get 'Energy Tablets' from the chest.
12. Return to the fork and go E to another fork. Keep going NE to get 'Star Mail' and 'EX Gem Lv4' from the chests at the end of the path.
13. Return to the fork, go S, and exit the area.
14. You will be in the room with the unstable walkway. Get 'Phoenix Cloak' from the chest and use your Sorcerer's Ring on the vines holding the stone to make it fall.
15. Return downstairs and through the door you opened earlier. Go S at the fork and save your game.
16. Proceed N all the way and enter the room with the slanting stone path.
17. Go downstairs and start going up the stone walkway. Once on the other side, get 'Star Guard' from the chest.
18. Go upstairs and enter the warp portal.
19. Go down the stairs in the next room; a scene triggers, and you must fight an easy battle with 2 Angel Swordians.
20. After the fight, watch the scene, and Regal leaves the party.
21. When you regain control, go N and get 'EX Gem Lv3' from the chest.
22. Go all the way S and get 'Shaman Dress' from the chest. A refresher is located on the W side.
23. Return to where you started, save your game, and proceed through the warp portal.
24. From where you appear, run down the stairs to trigger another scene. Sheena leaves the party.
25. Regroup when you have control. Start going N, and when you reach the corner, go E through two open areas to find a hidden chest S of the open area containing 'Star Helm'.
26. Keep going E until you reach a save point. Save your game and head S to the SE corner of the room.
27. Go W and N when possible. Follow the straightforward path up the warp portal to trigger another scene. You will fight some easy battles.
28. Raine leaves the party. You are left with Genis and Presea.
29. From your current location, go N to the NW corner. Two open areas E is a fork; taking the SE path leads to a save point.
30. Follow the path if needed. Go down the SW path and get 'Star Shield' directly in front of the fork, behind the debris.
31. Follow the path to the warp portal and use it.
32. Follow the path and examine the door. A scene triggers, and Presea leaves the party.
33. You are left with Genis and Lloyd. Follow the path SE. At the 4-way fork, go NE and save your game.
34. From the save point, go NE and NW at the next fork. Follow the path to the end and get 'EX Gem Lv3' from the chest behind the debris.
35. Return to the save point. Directly SW of it, find 'Star Circlet' in a hidden chest behind the debris.
36. Go all the way NE, past the save point, and make your way E to reach the portal.
37. Before entering the portal, follow the path S and get 'Star Gauntlet' from the lone chest.
38. Return to the portal and use it.
39. Follow the path N. At the fork, go W and get 'EX Gem Lv2' from the chest.
40. Return to the fork and go E to get 'Star Bracelet' from the chest.
41. Return to the fork and go N to trigger a scene where Genis leaves. Lloyd is alone.
42. From where you start, go NW. At the save point, return one open area and go E. At the end, get 'Spirit Bottle' from behind the debris.
43. Return to the broken portal (from where you started this area) and go SE. One open area before the SE corner, go NE and follow the path to get 'EX Gem Lv4' from the lone chest.
44. Return to the save point, save your game, and go SE to enter the portal.
