Guide your forces through the 'A Brother's Return' mission in Tempest Rising. Learn strategies to defeat Chaos Marines, Orks, and the Plague Champion.

Alright, this mission, "A Brother's Return" on the Astronomic Array, can be a bit tricky if you're not prepared. The game throws a lot at you, and it's easy to get overwhelmed. Let's break it down so you can get through it smoothly.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First things first, make sure you've deployed Avitus, Cyrus, and Tarkus. You'll want them ready. Head towards the Array; your objective is to meet up with Martellus. You'll find him in a bad way, taken down by a Bloodletter. Get over there, revive him, and then make sure you capture the Relay Beacon that's right behind the Array.
  2. 2
Once that's done, brace yourself. You're going to be swarmed by Chaos Marines and Ork Looters. Soon after, Field Generators will pop up, and your new main task is to defend them.
  3. 3
To get a handle on the Ork attack, capture the Power Terminal located to your left. This will help block their advance. Now, the Orks and Chaos Marines are kinda on a collision course, which can actually work in your favor if you manage it right. The leftmost Field Generator is usually the easiest to defend, so I recommend placing your [LOCATOR BEACONS] right beside it. Gather your squads, keep them close, and focus on fending off any enemies that get within range of the Generators.
  4. 4
Next up, you'll need to deal with a Chaos Dreadnaught and a bunch of Chaos Marines. They'll be just south of your current position. After you've cleared them out, look for a Wargear stash to the northeast. Be warned, an Ork Weirdboy is guarding it. Take him down, and if the Orks and Chaos Marines are still duking it out when you get there, now's your chance to sweep in and clean up the mess. For the tougher Ork units like the (2) Deff Dreads and the (1) Predator Tank, your [MELTA-BOMBS] will be super effective.
  5. 5
That Ork Weirdboy, who's rocking [64288 HP], is going to put up a fight for that stash. Use the Force Commander's [RIGHTEOUS FURY] to pummel him, or if you prefer, Cyrus's [HIGH-POWERED SHOTS] are great for assassinating him from a distance. Once he's down, don't forget to throw a [DEMOLITION CHARGE] on that garrisoned building he was protecting.
  6. 6
Now, prepare for a tough fight against the Plague Champion, who has [36260 HP]. He's slow but incredibly durable, like a walking tank. He'll be coming at you from the west, and he emits an [AURA OF DECAY] that can push your squads way back. To counter this, use Cyrus to lay down some [CLUSTER MINES] or [REMOTE DETONATION CHARGES] in his path. The Force Commander can also dish out a ton of damage with [BATTLE CRY] and [RIGHTEOUS FURY]. If the FC needs a breather, switch over to Tarkus and use his [TAUNT] to draw aggro, then follow up with [TACTICAL ADVANCE]. Martellus is also a great asset here; use him as a meat shield to keep the Plague Champion busy while your other units do their work. Take down this creepy zombie for good!

Wargear Found: Masticator, Blessing of Mikelus, Suffering's Den, Pestilent Spewer, Gauntlet of Ferrus Manus, Salvaged Armor, Salvaged Weaponry
