Master the remixed dungeons and mirrored overworld of Ocarina of Time's Master Quest. Learn about tougher enemies and new challenges.
After you've beaten Ganon in the main game, you'll unlock Master Quest! This special version of Ocarina of Time was originally a bonus for Wind Waker pre-orders back in 2003. It's a whole new ballgame with some key differences:
- A Mirrored Overworld: Everything that was on your left is now on your right, and vice-versa. North and south stay the same, thankfully!
- Remixed Dungeons: The layout of rooms, which switches do what, where the Gold Skulltulas are hiding, and how many Small Keys you need are all changed up. The overall design and feel of the dungeons are the same, but navigating them will be a fresh challenge.
- Tougher Enemies: Get ready for a fight! Enemies in Master Quest hit twice as hard as they do in the regular game.
Since you'll already be a pro at navigating the overworld after beating the main game, I haven't written a separate guide for the Master Quest overworld. You can pretty much use the same guide as before, just remember that left is now right and right is now left. The dungeons, however, are a different story! I've completely rewritten the guides for over 20 dungeons from scratch to help you conquer them. The only exception is the Shadow Temple, where large sections are similar to the normal version, so I've copied those parts over. When following these dungeon guides, you don't need to mirror the instructions. Also, don't worry if the number of Gold Skulltulas you can find seems different at certain points; I'll make sure to cover them again in the main game guide. Ready to dive in?
