Cannon Island

Follow this walkthrough to get the Cannon on Cannon Island in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Includes tips for the Bomb Garden and Eddo's Garage.

Alright, so you've landed on Cannon Island! The first thing you'll notice is that flying Postman dude. He'll give you a quick hello and then zoom off. Don't worry about him, just head east into Eddo's Garage. His apprentice is there and will tell you the cannon isn't ready yet. He'll then suggest you take the super long way around to the back door, which, surprise surprise, is unlocked. So, you've got no choice but to go bug Eddo yourself. Head back outside, and the apprentice will unlock the door to the Bomb Garden for you.

Now, step into the Bomb Garden. You'll immediately run into some Red Chu-Chus – take 'em out. Keep heading east, past those buzzing beehives, and you'll find a chest containing a treasure map. Nice! Now, backtrack west and then south until you find a cave. Inside, you'll need to defeat two rats. After that, grab one of those bomb flowers. You'll need to be quick: run to the far right and use the bomb to destroy the rocks blocking a chest with a Power Gem. Grab another bomb flower, and this time, use it to destroy the rocks blocking a pushable block. Push that block forward, then head north to another block. Pull this one all the way back and out. Finally, go north again and pull a third block just one space to the right and one space up. Now you can get through! You'll fight two more rats, so deal with them, then grab another bomb flower to clear the rocks blocking your path. Head through and up the stairs.

Outside, you'll see a bunch of bomb flowers and more rats. Take out the rats, but be super careful not to hit the bomb flowers – they'll explode! Once the area is clear, grab a bomb flower and use it to destroy the rocks in your way. Head south and west to find a chest with a Red Rupee. Go back east, and use another bomb flower to clear more rocks. Now, jump down the cliff. You'll need to destroy all the Red Chu-Chus down there. After that, go back up the stairs. Grab the bomb flower that's furthest northeast. Quickly jump down, run west, and throw the bomb flower towards the three rocks blocking your path. You'll probably have to do this a couple of times to clear the way. Once the path is open, head back down and around, through the newly cleared rocks, and back into Eddo's Garage.

Eddo himself is waiting for you in the garage. Talk to him and demand that cannon! He'll hand it over, but get this – it'll cost you a whopping 50 Rupees! Hopefully, you've got that much saved up. If not... well, you might have to do some grass cutting around the island to scrounge up the cash. Once you've paid up and got your Cannon, head back outside. The Postman will show up with a letter from the Postmaster. After he reads it, he'll ask you to sign it. Scribble whatever you like, then it's back to the ship to set sail!
