Heart Containers & Pieces of Heart

Maximizing Link's health is crucial for any aspiring hero. There are 44 Pieces of Heart scattered across the Great Sea, with every four pieces forming a full Heart Container. This means a total of 11 additional Heart Containers can be earned beyond the 3 you start with and the 10 obtained from bosses, bringing your grand total to 20 Heart Containers. collect the Heart Container dropped by each dungeon boss!

• Pieces of Heart (44 Total):
• Outset Island (1): Beat Orca's sword training challenge by landing 100 consecutive hits. He will reward you with a Piece of Heart.
• Dragon Roost Island (2):
  • Win the mail-sorting game in the Rito Post Office by sorting 25 letters in under 30 seconds.
  • Give the letter from Komali to Prince Komali, then return to Medli for a reward.
• Forest Haven (1): Glide from the very top of the Deku Tree (using the Deku Leaf) to a small platform with a treasure chest containing a Piece of Heart.
• Greatfish Isle (1): After restoring the island with the Ballad of Gales, find a Piece of Heart on a small, elevated platform accessible by Deku Leaf or Hookshot.
• Windfall Island (6):
  • Win the auction for a Piece of Heart (appears randomly).
  • Complete the "Killer Bees" questline:
    1. Talk to the Killer Bees (boys in masks) in front of the school.
    2. Find their hideout behind the bomb shop and enter.
    3. Talk to Mrs. Marie (teacher) and agree to help.
    4. Find all five Killer Bees hiding around Windfall Island.
    5. Return to Mrs. Marie for a Piece of Heart.
  • Help the man on the bench near the auction house by giving him 20 Joy Pendants.
  • Help the woman near the postbox by giving her 20 Skull Necklaces.
  • Light all 14 streetlights around Windfall Island at night using the Fire Arrows. A chest will appear near the entrance to the town.
  • Win the "Battleship" mini-game (Cannon Game) on Spectacle Island (accessible from Windfall) with a high score.
• Needle Rock Isle (1): Use a Hyoi Pear to guide a seagull to the switch on top of the tallest rock spire. A chest will appear on a lower platform.
• Stone Watcher Island (1): Defeat all enemies in the underground cave. The entrance is hidden under a rock that needs to be bombed.
• Northern Fairy Island (1): Bomb the cracked wall on the island to reveal a cave. The Piece of Heart is inside.
• Southern Fairy Island (1): Bomb the cracked wall on the island to reveal a cave. The Piece of Heart is inside.
• Three-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all three cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Bomb Island (1): Bomb the large rock on the island to reveal a secret cave. The Piece of Heart is inside.
• Pawprint Isle (1): Dig in the center of the pawprint-shaped area on the main island.
• Fire Mountain (1): Enter the volcano after cooling it with an Ice Arrow (the timer runs out, so be quick!). The Piece of Heart is in a chest.
• Ice Ring Isle (1): Enter the cave after melting the ice with a Fire Arrow (the timer runs out, so be quick!). The Piece of Heart is in a chest.
• Mother & Child Isles (1): Use the Hookshot to reach the chest on the "Child" island.
• Cyclops Reef (1): Defeat all enemies on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Angular Isles (1): Solve the block puzzle on the main island to reach a chest.
• Boating Course (1): Complete the race in under 1:30.
• Isle of Steel (1): Enter the fortress and defeat all enemies inside.
• Flight Control Platform (1): Achieve a high score (at least 35 points) in the mini-game.
• Private Oasis (1): Use the Hookshot to reach the chest on the roof of the cabana.
• Overlook Island (1): Use the Hookshot to reach the chest on a high ledge.
• Horseshoe Island (1): Complete the mini-golf game by hitting the seed into the hole.
• Shark Island (1): Defeat all enemies on the island. A chest will appear.
• Star Island (1): Dig in the center of the island where the star pattern is.
• Cliffbase Isle (1): Bomb the cracked wall to reveal a cave with a Piece of Heart.
• Bird's Peak Rock (1): Use a Hyoi Pear to guide a seagull to the switch on top of the highest peak. A chest will appear.
• Diamond Steppe Island (1): Use the Hookshot to reach the chest on the highest platform.
• Spectacle Island (1): Complete the cannon mini-game with a high score (different from the Windfall one).
• Headstone Island (1): Dig near the grave of the Wizzrobe.
• Tingle Island (1): Solve the Tingle Statues puzzle (requires Tingle Tuner or Tingle Bottle in HD). After finding all 5 Tingle Statues, return to Tingle Island to claim the reward.
• Two-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all two cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Four-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all four cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Five-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all five cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Six-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all six cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Seven-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all seven cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Eight-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all eight cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Nine-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all nine cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Ten-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all ten cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Eleven-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all eleven cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Twelve-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all twelve cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Thirteen-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all thirteen cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
• Fourteen-Eye Reef (1): Destroy all fourteen cannons on the platforms. A chest will appear.
