The Trading Sequence in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is a rewarding side quest that not only expands the inventory of a struggling merchant but also nets Link some incredibly valuable items, including a coveted Piece of Heart and the powerful Magic Armor. This guide will walk you through each step to ensure you efficiently complete this multi-island endeavor.

Initiating the Trade

Your journey begins on Windfall Island (D2) with Zunari, the kind-hearted but financially challenged merchant who initially sold you the Sail. He's looking to diversify his stock and needs your help to do so. Speak with him, and he will entrust you with the first item in this intricate trading chain:

• Town Flower: Obtained from Zunari on Windfall Island (D2). This is your starting point.

The Trading Route: Piece of Heart Path

While there are multiple paths and items to trade, this sequence focuses on the most direct route to acquiring a Piece of Heart. Follow these steps precisely:

1. Greatfish Isle (D2): Travel to Greatfish Isle and locate the Wandering Merchant. Present him with the Town Flower. In exchange, you will receive a Sea Flower.
2. Mother & Child Isles (B2): Head to the Mother & Child Isles. Find the Wandering Merchant there and offer him the Sea Flower. He will trade it for an Exotic Flower.
3. Bomb Island (E6): Warp or sail to Bomb Island. Seek out the Wandering Merchant on this island. Give him the Exotic Flower to obtain a Pinwheel.
4. Greatfish Isle (D2) - Return: Make your way back to Greatfish Isle. The Wandering Merchant here will gladly take the Pinwheel in exchange for a Sickle Moon Flag.
5. Mother & Child Isles (B2) - Return: Return to the Mother & Child Isles. The Wandering Merchant will accept the Sickle Moon Flag and reward you with your first major prize: a Piece of Heart!

The Trading Route: Magic Armor Path

After securing the Piece of Heart, you can continue the trading sequence to acquire the incredibly useful Magic Armor. This item consumes magic power but renders Link invincible, making it invaluable for tough boss fights or challenging areas.

1. Mother & Child Isles (B2): (Assuming you just finished the Piece of Heart path) You should still be at Mother & Child Isles with the Wandering Merchant. After receiving the Piece of Heart, he will offer you a Fountain Idol.
2. Bomb Island (E6): Travel to Bomb Island. The Wandering Merchant here will trade the Fountain Idol for a Big Sale Flag.
3. Greatfish Isle (D2): Sail to Greatfish Isle. The Wandering Merchant will exchange the Big Sale Flag for a Hero's Flag.
4. Mother & Child Isles (B2): Return to Mother & Child Isles. The Wandering Merchant will take the Hero's Flag and give you a Postman Statue.
5. Bomb Island (E6): Go back to Bomb Island. The Wandering Merchant will trade the Postman Statue for a Shop Guru Statue.
6. Greatfish Isle (D2): Head to Greatfish Isle one last time. The Wandering Merchant will accept the Shop Guru Statue. This is the final item in the sequence!

Completing the Quest

Once you have traded the Shop Guru Statue, the Wandering Merchant on Greatfish Isle will inform you that all the items have been successfully delivered to Zunari. Return to Windfall Island (D2) and speak with Zunari. He will express his gratitude for your efforts in expanding his business and, as a token of his appreciation, will bestow upon you the magnificent Magic Armor!
