Discover the secrets of the Bus To Nowhere in VRChat! This guide covers all locations, events, items, and upgrades for this unique interactive world.
The Bus to Nowhere is a VRChat world created by user Beyond, based on a Roblox gamemode. It features a moving interactive "time bus" for up to 20 players, traveling between various biomes. While seemingly abstract, the world contains many unmarked objectives and discoveries, making it more than just a social space.
1st Floor: The driver's area includes a HUD with bus speed, in-game time, current biome, miles traveled, and fuel cells. The driver can select destinations (with "???????" indicating undiscovered locations) or let the bus choose randomly. The bus is autonomous if no driver is present. The driver can also use the horn and windshield wipers. Sitting in the driver's seat increases bus speed from 60mph to 78mph. Other controls include a radio, passenger list, and buttons for climbing (VR only), airtime, and chairs. A ticket slot with an introductory screen and patch notes on the windshield are present. A ticker displays news and information. The exit door is functional, and a fire extinguisher is available. An accessible phone receives random calls. A flatscreen TV can be turned on/off, used as a video player, shows a Location Tracker for discovered places, or cycles through meme channels. A vent near the floor leads to the Engine Room, accessible only at Night Time. Luggage compartments above seats contain items like a movement speed coil, a 9mm pistol (infinite ammo), confetti guns, a bus replica, a skeleton's horn, firework sparklers, robot plushies, a guitar, and a hammer. The bathroom contains a broom, bucket, cheezburger, spray bottle, and a glowing fungus man. Items flushed down the toilet respawn in the Engine Room. A bulletin board and stairs to the 2nd floor are on the opposite side.
2nd Floor: Features buttons for a player-exclusive mirror and a global mirror. Storage compartments contain a Rainbow Color Pencil, infinitely respawning cookies, a Vineboom easter island head, Mar-Plush, and a Blue coil (increases jump height). A box of infinitely spawning pizza is in a seat, and the mechanical head of a passenger is under another seat. "Have's Mysterious Drink" is located between seats. A ladder near the 1st-floor stairs leads to the Roof, with a small crate and an empty Battery for the Time Bus Engine behind it.
The Roof: Offers seats with wind exposure, a miniature table with color pencils, erasers, and a Simon Says toy. A minifridge contains canned beverages. A smartphone that only takes pictures is located between seats. UI screens on the front left ridge display the current location and in-game time.
Engine Room: Contains an upgrade console overrun with unknown mass. A large tank-like device requires three Fully Charged Batteries. One charged battery is in the room, and two empty ones must be found. Warning: DO NOT LOOK UP IN THIS ROOM. A still beating heart is in the center. Inserting charged batteries allows the engine to be modified with an item, permanently altering the bus (the item is destroyed).
Locations: There are 32 potential locations, though only 28 may be accessible per playthrough. These include Grass, Tunnel (buffer), Plains, Snowy, Gravel, Neon Towers, Star City, Ash, Volcano, Desert, Golden City, Marsh, Flatland, Bridge, Roofed Forest, Cavern, Snowy Forest, Snowy Hills, Shimmering Forest, Crystal Cavern, The Sanctum, Hills, Brick, The Black Forest, Volcanic Cavern, Pale City, Red City, Mountain, Hell, Abandoned City, Grass, and Volcanic.
Batteries: Three batteries are needed. One is fully charged in the Engine Room. An empty one is on the 2nd Floor behind the ladder. Another empty one is found at a specific event bus stop with a purple soda machine, on the floor to the left of the bench. Batteries are charged by holding them on the roof during a Lightning Storm event. Desktop users can flush batteries down the toilet to send them to the Engine Room.
Events: Occur roughly every 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
- Machine that Know's things: A bus stop with a machine that scans items and provides lore.
- Normal Bus Stop [IMPORTANT!]: Offers purple soda and an empty battery on the floor.
- Power Loss: The bus temporarily stops, allowing exploration outside.
- Lock Down: Alarms sound, and blast plates cover windows and exits.
