Master the Pasqal Support Operator Bruiser build in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. Learn optimal skills, weapon choices (Plasma vs. Melta), and combat rotations for maximum damage and support.

The Pasqal build in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a versatile bruiser capable of both melee and ranged combat. Initially, you'll use the starting Power Omnissian Axe, but by the end of Chapter 1, you'll find Plasma and Melta weapons on Rykad Minoris, with further upgrades available in locations like Kiava Gama. These ranged weapons become crucial, especially when unlocking the Bounty Hunter archetype, allowing Pasqal to score critical hits, reduce enemy armor, and decrease dodge chance. By marking enemies with Prey, you'll build critical hit and critical damage while using low-threat targets to generate Temporary Wounds, enhancing Pasqal's survivability as a bruiser.

At level 20, Pasqal can specialize in Dual-Weapon Combat, seamlessly integrating ranged and melee attacks. This is where the bruiser aspect truly shines. Enhance his tankiness with abilities like Stronghold (Master Tactician), Machine Spirit Banishment (Pasqal's unique skill), Voice of Command (Officer buffs), or Wall of Ferrocrete (Vanguard). This setup allows Pasqal to eliminate melee threats and engage ranged targets with high damage and armor penetration, while also debuffing enemies to aid allies.

As an Operative, Pasqal excels at support by applying Weaknesses to enemies through passive talents and active skills. Use Expose Weakness to reduce enemy dodge and armor, or to boost your own damage. Keep Machine Spirit Communion active to buff allies like Argenta, whose Rapid Fire and Burst Fire builds benefit from reduced enemy Dodge reduction, making it easier for ranged damage dealers to eliminate targets.

Around level 12, you'll find Plasma or Melta weapons. Melta is better for close-range builds, while Plasma is more suited for engaging distant targets. Meltas typically have a 5-range cone blast, while Plasma Rifles have a 10-range single-shot attack. Plasma offers more combo potential, making it the recommended choice, though Meltas are a viable alternative.

Bounty Hunter Build Progression

Pasqal thrives in combat, applying Bleed effects and stripping enemies of their dodge and armor, making them vulnerable to himself and his allies.

With your first AP increase, you can adopt a new combat style. Pasqal can equip two two-handed weapons, synergizing with Dual-Weapon Combat. Using both a ranged and melee weapon costs 3-4 AP (Plasma combo costs 3, Melta costs 4). However, Filtering Protocols grant +1 AP, allowing Pasqal to use both weapons and still have AP remaining for Piercing Shot or other Operative debuffs. Manipulator Push can clear obstacles for shooting. If you kill an enemy with Claim the Bounty, you gain more AP, which is useful if Pasqal has the Officer's ultimate, Finest Hour, for additional attacks. Melee attacks at this stage also benefit from the non-respecable talent Passive Learning, which shrinks to a 2-cell radius after the first turn.

Your typical combat rotation will involve:

  1. Melee attack (1 AP)
