How to get and Upgrade Medicines

To get medicine, visit a boundary stone (fast travel waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination)). The first visit unlocks it for fast travel. These shrines provide a stockpile of healing items, often called Hemostatic Powders.

If you run out, visit a Crafting Zone, marked by a large Anvil on the world map.

Crafting Zones are located at Heaven’s Pier, Harvest Fall Village, and Fairgrounds, Kaifeng City.

At a Crafting Zone, find the medicine crafting station (bronze kettle near a fireplace) to craft Hemostatic Powders.

The Healer career specialization grants access to other healing items.

Hemostatic Powder requires 4 stamina, 1 herb, and 1 meat scrap per craft. These materials can be found while hunting and gathering, or purchased from merchants.

To upgrade your medicine, unlock the Evercare Clinic at the Still Shore Landmark.

Speak to Yao at the clinic entrance and select the "Submit Tales of Medicine" option.

Hand over Medicinal Tales items to upgrade the Medicine Chest.

Each Medicine Chest level improves Hemostatic Powders by increasing carry capacity, recovery strength, or adding a heal-over-time effect.

Medicinal Tales are obtained by defeating story bosses for the first time, completing Side Mission Dungeons, defeating World Bosses, and other difficult activities.

Typically, you get 1 Medicinal Tale from each Side Story dungeon. There are seven in Qinghe, plus one more after capping Qinghe exploration. Kaifeng also has at least seven, with more expected in later patches.

You can get three Medicinal Tales for completing each world boss. There are three in Kaifeng (recommended level 50) and six in Qinghe (recommended level 30). The Snake world boss, Puppeteers, Earth Fiend Deity, Yi Dao, and Twin Lions are noted for difficulty.

Beating a campaign chapter end boss for the first time also awards Medicinal Tales and unlocks farmable dungeons for gear.
