Discover how to obtain Dragon Keys in Where Winds Meet through Skill Theft, Fort Clearing, and Breakthrough Rewards. Learn where to use them to unlock new weapons.

Hey there! So you're looking to get your hands on some Dragon Keys in Where Winds Meet, huh? These are super important for unlocking some really cool new weapons. Don't worry, it's not too complicated once you know where to look. Let's break down how to get them and where you'll need to use them.

How to Get Dragon Keys:

There are three main ways you'll snag these keys:

  • Skill Theft: Unlearned Lesson questline
  • Fort Clearing (Outposts)
  • Breakthrough Rewards

The first method, the Skill Theft questline, unlocks when you hit level 8. You'll find this quest near the Peace Bell Tower, which is that big spire towards the southwest of Qinghe. If you've chatted with the Wanderer in the three main areas, you should see it on your map. This questline is awesome because it teaches you how to learn Martial Art Styles for various weapons, and you'll get a Dragon Key to open a locked dojo.

Next up are the Outposts. Since some dojos require keys, you'll need more. Clearing certain Outposts is a guaranteed way to get a key the first time you beat them. The main ones to focus on are the Tiger Fort, Gourmand’s Grove, and Bloomveil Monastery outposts, all found in Qinghe. You might get lucky and find a key in other Outpost Chests randomly, but these three are your best bet for a sure thing.

The third way is through the Breakthrough Progression. Think of this like a battle pass system. It unlocks at stage 21, which you'll reach pretty early on in the Breakthrough menu. Just keep playing and progressing, and you'll earn rewards, including Dragon Keys.

Where to Use Dragon Keys:

Alright, so you've got your keys! Now, where do they go? You'll use these keys on pedestals located outside specific locked dojos to unlock new weapon quests. Here are the weapons and their general locations:

  • Panacea Fan - Near the Northern Bamboo Grave Boundary Stone
  • Infernal Dual Blades - Crimson Cliff, near the Starfall Slring area
  • Strategic Sword - Encircling Lake
  • Heavenquake Spear - Wildsmane Ranch, across the river from General’s Shrine
  • Inkwell Fan - Buddha Village, near the very northwest edge of the Sundara Land part of Qinghe

If you're ever unsure about a weapon's location, just pop into your menu, go to Develop, then Weapons. Hover over the weapon you're interested in and press the 'Obtain' button in the bottom right. It'll show you a clue on the map. For weapons located in Qinghe, you'll definitely need a Dragon Key to get in. Weapons in Kaifeng usually don't need keys but might have their own separate mission requirements.

Hope this helps you get those awesome new weapons! If you're still on the fence about which weapon to go for first, check out our starting weapon choice guide and the weapon tier list for some recommendations.
