Build a powerful Feathering build in wuchang fallen feathers using Serpent Fang, Zhanlu Sword, or Plumed Grace. Learn about Corruption and Alacrity.

Feathering is one of the magical damage stats in wuchang fallen feathers. Some weapons are designed to validate Feathering builds, through the Feathering Attack power levels, alongside the scalings available to each weapon. Furthermore, the game has many spells, some falling into the Feathering category. These too are affected by scalings, which means that as you level up, and place more points into the Feathering playstyle, you will naturally get some pretty strong spells to use at your disposal.

Strengths:

  • Incredibly strong scalings
  • Strong Skyborn Might synergy
  • Cheap spells with healing

Weaknesses:

  • There are only three weapons to pick from
  • One weapon drops at the end of Chapter 3. The other two come from Chapter 4 and 5, and are likely NG+ weapons.
  • Dependent on Benedictions to alter weapon scalings.

Key features:

  • Corruption: Corruption is a status effect, and when it is fully built, it slowly drains the target’s HP. It’s a fairly strong Damage over Time (DoT) effect.
  • Alacrity: Alacrity is a buff that occurs when you are attacked while casting a spell. At 50% Madness, you get a Skyborn Might stack. When Alacrity occurs, you also mitigate some of the damage taken. It’s essentially the magic version of Clashing.
  • Madness: Madness is a game feature that goes up or down, depending on the enemies you kill, or Madness you manually add to yourself via the Shrines. Madness levels can trigger special effects, such as a 10% damage given and taken at 90%, increased Red Mercury drops, and other effects you can add to your build via the Illusive Impetus Repository tree. Some of these effects you’ll certainly want in your build.

Feathering Weapon Options:

In terms of your weapons, you have a few choices:

  • Serpent Fang (Longsword): Get it from Li Dingo at the Ferry Overlook at the end of Chapter 3 regardless of the ending for his questline.
  • Zhanlu Sword (One Handed Sword): Complete the Nian Suichang questline in Chapter 4.
  • Plumed Grace (One Handed Sword): Defeat one of the main story bosses in Chapter 5.

If you really want a Feathering build, then you will need to play through the game normally. We recommend familiarizing yourself with the Longsword and One Handed Sword weapons to familiarize yourself with these weapon playstyles. Focus on strength and agility scalings too where applicable so your early game weapon damage remains competitive.

When you reach Chapter 3, you can get your first Feathering Weapon, Serpent Fang. Li Dingo gives it to you regardless of how you complete his questline.

  • Make sure to visit Overlook Ferry after Mt. Zhenwu main story through the cave, ignoring the Storyteller skipping you to Chapter 4 and visiting the Overlook Ferry at the end of that cave.
  • You can typically find him directly under the Overlook Ferry shrine bridge, or on the docks, depending on the quest ending. He’s under the bridge if you ignored him and his brother, or by the pier if you assisted them both.
  • If you miss this, then you won’t really get a Feathering Weapon until right at the end of the game.

The best scaling Feathering Weapon is the Zhanlu Sword. To get this sword:

  • Make sure to speak to Nian Suichang in Chapter 1. Also hand over the Blood from the boss atop the Shu Sanctum to progress from there.
  • Proceed to chapter 2 and talk to Nian before you open the door to Cloudspire at the bottom of Reverent Tower.
  • In Chapter 2, do not kill the rebel camp boss without finding Nian first.
  • You can now defeat the rebel camp North General boss. Nian can be summoned to help fight him if you want.
  • Zian then appears again in Chapter 4 by a shrine that resets your Madness. You can find it by crossing the bridge from Shu Sanctum to the cliff edge. From there, take the pathway right, follow the bolder pathway, and proceed up the hill on the left road.
  • He gives you a key item to relating to Qiao Lin, his brother. Come back after resting, and you should find the General armor set and the sword on the floor.

The other two come from either one of the main story endings. Plumed Grace comes from a Chapter 5 main storyline boss, which can technically be missed in one of the endings relating to the several NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) questlines. If you go to Chapter 5 and play through it normally, you’ll find the boss in question without fail.

Impetus Repository:

For the longsword, simply go into the Longsword tree and follow the left column, and get the node down from the Discipline Skill. It has its own subsection of Feathering to dip into. Follow the skill tree’s left column, and move towards the Counter discipline skill. The node before it unlocks a n
