Discover the best Red Mercury farming spots in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Learn efficient methods for Lightzen Temple, Mort Grotto, and Avian Marsh to maximize your Red Mercury gains.

Before you begin farming, the Maddening system can buff your Red Mercury gains. You can find out your Madness levels by visiting the character info page and checking the Mad value vs total. Simply do current value / max value. If it values at 0.9… then you’re at least 90%, thus getting those buffs / debuffs. In addition, players can head to Act 3 without even progressing Act bar finding the Hillswatch Shrine. If you care about completing NPCS quests in Chapter 2, you may want to give these a miss till you arrive to Act 3 organically.

Chapter 1 Red Mercury Farm: Lightzen Temple

Use this Echo spell to do massive cleave damage to these unarmored opponents in this Wuchang Red Mercury Farm. Image via Gamer Guides / 505 Games.

  • XP Yield: ~750 Red Mercury per run
  • Difficulty: Beginner-friendly, but it’s easy to mess up for new players.
  • Requirements: Echo of Dhutanga spell (obtained from the Lightzen Temple boss)
  • Time: ~2 mins if you’re struggling.
  • XP Per Hour: 22,500

Lightzen Temple is one of the first shrines you come across in Act 1. What’s really good about this area is you can mass pull a lot of enemies towards the front of the Temple, and easily cleave them down with the Echo of Dhutanga spell, which you get from the boss behind the shrine in the same temple. When you unlock this spell, build Skyborn Might from the first few enemies as you’ll need it to mass cleave the pull coming at the front of the temple / inside the building at the front. Alternatively, you can easily blow the pack up before they enter combat animations by using some form of ranged fire attack to blow the oil barrels up, and then kill the rest one by one. The chain cleave is more efficient, but it has more risk to it. The steps to the farm are as follows:

  • Start at Lightzen shrine and kill the enemies dead ahead and to the right to build Skyborn Might. There’s one Grave Robber - Pickaxe worth 50 and Fake Monk - Staff worth 110. There’s another Monk in the building too which you can pull together if you can cleave all three at the same time.
  • Run back to the shrine, and go towards the enemies to the right if you’re facing it. Run up to them, and you should pull the other Fake Monk - Staff enemy too. Kill these enemies with a fire attack to destroy the barrels to easily Bandit - Axe, Bandit - Broken Sword and Grave Robber - Pickaxe. They are worth 300, plus 110 for the monk. Totaling this area as 670 for a very quick reset.
  • Run into the building behind the pack by the fire barrels for two more Grave Robbers that jump from the rafters for another quick 100. Feel free to chain pull if you’re used to fighting the other four enemies.

Chapter 2: Mort Grotto Red Mercury Farm

For this Red Mercury XP Farm, you can either farm the Feathered Militia at the front, or go into the cave to farm the Miners and Gong guy too for increased Red Essence item pick ups. Image via Gamer Guides.

  • XP Yield: ~3000 Red Mercury per run
  • Difficulty: Easy - The Feathered Miners are really easy, but you can easily be swarmed if you don’t kill the Gong Striker
  • Requirements: Blight / Corruption resistance
  • Time: 3-5 mins, depending on skill, weapon level, Blight pauses etc.
  • XP Per Hour: 45000
  • XP Per Hour for the Feathered Militia only: 56,400

This farm can be done in stages. If you want a quick 30 second farm, go to Mort Grotto shrine, and kill the Feathered enemy at the entrance. His back faces you. He gives 470. Quickly run in, kill him and out for a really easy and quick Red Mercury farm that takes a max 30 seconds. Though, killing more enemies in the cave increases the drop chance of loom which potentially means more Red Mercury item drops that counters the better XP rate from the Militia spam only.

Alternatively, if you want to farm more, you can do a slightly deeper run into the cave:

  • Rest at Mort Grotto
  • Run across the wooden bridge
  • Kill the Feathered Militia worth 470
  • Go deeper into the cave and kill the two Feathered Miners worth 220 each
  • Sprint close to the other two miners, maybe the third to the left.
  • Run down towards the bell enemy ( Gong-Striking Yaksha) that alerts the other nearby miners. This pulls another 3 miners and one Coffin Monster, along with the other two/three miners already pulled by you, and summons some of the Feathered Refugees (diving bomb mutants). The mutants are worth 50 each, the miners 220 each, and the Gong is worth 490, while the Coffin monster is worth 240. Totaling around ~2030 Red Mercury in this one pull.

Chapter 3: Avian Marsh Clam Farm

The Corpse Eating Clam Route offers a lot of Red Mercury, alongside lots of Red Mercury drops from the Leech enemies. Image via Gamer Guides / 505 Games.

  • XP Yield: ~9600 Red Mercury per run
  • Difficulty: Easy - medium, depending on skill dodging the Leech and Clam binding effects.
  • Requirements: Higher weapon damage, Lightning Temperance ideal.
  • Time: 2-4 mins, depending on skill, weapon level, and ability to chain pull and cleave the Leeches. Also huge time sinks if you can easily burst down the clams with Lightning Temperance Discipline skills.
  • XP Per Hour: 144000

The Avian Marsh is an optional area of Act 3, and can be found by going down the ladder into the forest from the Refugee Camp. Players don’t need to complete Act 2 to do this farm. Though, it means the runs are slightly longer based on damage you deal to the clams. Those who complete Act 2 will have a much better time farming this.

  • From the Avian Marsh shrine, simply leave the hut, and go forwards towards the three Possessed Refugees (leech enemies). Kill them. Look l
