How Notoriety Works in Assassin's Creed Mirage

Notoriety in assassins creed mirage has three levels, tracked by a bar in the bottom-right of your screen. These levels dictate how aggressively guards and civilians react to Basim's illegal activities.

Notoriety Levels:

• Level 1: Civilians may recognize Basim and call guards. Wanted Posters appear on walls.
• Level 2: Guards have increased perception and are more likely to detect you. Archers patrol rooftops. Civilians are more likely to report you. More Wanted Posters appear.
• Level 3: Maximum notoriety. The elite Shakiriyya guard pursues you. Guards are very likely to detect Basim. Civilians gather around posters and are highly likely to recognize you and call guards.

Notoriety increases primarily through illegal acts such as stealing, trespassing, and killing. These acts must be observed by civilians or guards to raise notoriety. If an act is committed unseen, notoriety does not increase.

Minor illegal acts like stealing, even if seen, raise notoriety by a small amount, which can decrease automatically if you avoid trouble for a short period. Killing someone instantly raises notoriety to level 1 or above, requiring a Wanted Poster or a bribe to a Munadi to decrease it.

If you are at notoriety level 1 and commit an illegal act while seen, notoriety increases. If you then kill or successfully hide from the observer, notoriety will gradually decrease to the previous amount until the coast is clear, preventing further increases.

How to Decrease Notoriety:

If your notoriety reaches level 1 or above, you can decrease it by tearing down Wanted Posters or bribing Munadi NPCs.

Where to Find Wanted Posters:

Wanted Posters are found on the walls of buildings throughout Baghdad. They are large and easily visible. Interacting with them tears them down. At notoriety levels 1 or 2, this can be done with relative ease, but caution is needed around guards. At level 3, posters are often surrounded by civilians who will quickly call guards, requiring swift action.

Where to Find Munadi NPCs:

Munadi NPCs are news bearers who announce events from modest platforms, typically found in market areas, trade areas, or public squares where many people gather. You cannot bribe them with coin; you need a Power Token, a type of Khidmah Token earned by completing Contracts. Alternatively, Power Tokens can be pickpocketed from civilians.
