Five Element Cart Quests

Pale-Axe Stalwart and the Brown-Iron Cart: Encounter the Pale-Axe Stalwart early in Chapter 5. Defeat him in battle, then speak to him to learn about the Five Element Carts. Follow the path behind him to find the Brown-Iron Cart. Attack it from the side and dodge its slams.

Gray-Bronze Cart: After reaching the Height of Ember Shrine, proceed forward. You may have a choice of paths; take the one to the left to find the Gray-Bronze Cart. This cart also blocks a passageway. Use similar tactics as the Brown-Iron Cart, utilizing a safe spot if available. If you haven't already, return to the Pale-Axe Stalwart and speak to him until he moves on.

The Horse Guai Cart: This cart is already defeated. Find it in the Furnace Valley area of Chapter 5, near the Valley Entrance Shrine. Follow the path, then go into the lava to your right (equip the Fireproof Mantle). Interact with the defeated cart. Ensure you have completed the Horse Guai Quest steps before interacting with this cart, or it may invalidate the quest.

Crimson-Silver Cart: After defeating the Keeper of the Flaming Mountains and reaching the Emerald Hall Shrine, proceed forward. You will find the Crimson-Silver Cart. The Pale-Axe Stalwart may be present to assist. Use A Pluck of Many and your companion to defeat it. Speak to the Pale-Axe Stalwart again after the battle. If you are working on the Horse Guai Quest, return to its Cart near the Valley Entrance Shrine to remove the whip and gain the Dark Thunder Transformation.

Rusty-Gold Cart: This is an optional and missable encounter. Reach the Field of Fire - Ashen Pass III Shrine. Beyond it, you'll face a rolling ball obstacle. Navigate upwards by using side areas to wait for the ball to pass, defeating any enemies first. Eventually, you'll trigger a scene where Zhu Bajie intervenes.
