Master the early game of Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement! Learn enemy weaknesses, drop rates, and strategies for Morte, Seama, Cannon Morte, Aello, Ghost, Dullahammer, and Giant Rats.

Alright, let's dive into the first batch of enemies you'll encounter in Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement. Knowing what you're up against is half the battle, so let's break down enemies #1 through #25.

Morte (#1)

NormalHard/Nightmare
Level24
HP1124
XP11
Item DropsResist

-Fire: -25Ice: 0Thunder: 0
-Light: -50Dark: 0Poison: 100
-Curse: 100Stone: 50
ShardLocation
-Galleon Minerva, Arvantville, Entrance

Mortes are basically just moving obstacles. They're slow, don't attack, and eventually just disappear. Honestly, they're not worth fighting unless you absolutely need the XP to level up, which is unlikely given how many you'd need to defeat. You can find them early in Galleon Minerva, Arvantville, and the Entrance.

Seama (#2)

NormalHard/Nightmare
Level35
HP1627

Halite5.00%Light: 0Dark: 0Poison: 0
Curse: 0Stone: 50
ShardLocation
Cerulean Splash3.00%Galleon Minerva

Seamas are a bit more active. They can jump and stab with their tentacles, and they also have a water projectile attack that arcs and bounces. They're pretty slow, though, so your best bet is to get up close and personal and wail on them before they can do much. You can find them in Galleon Minerva. Their shard, Cerulean Splash, is a handy water spell.

Cannon Morte (#3)

NormalHard/Nightmare
Level35
HP1728
XP814
Item DropsResist
SP Rounds x310.00%Slash: 0Strike: -25Thrust: 20

HP Rounds x33.00%Light: -25Dark: 20Poison: 100
Elm4.00%Curse: 100Stone: 50
ShardLocation
Flame Cannon2.00%Galleon Minerva

These guys shoot! Thankfully, their range is limited, so if you keep about half a screen away, you're usually safe. Their shots are slow, so you can often jump over them if you need to get in close. If you'd rather not risk it, the Cerulean Splash spell works wonders here. They're found in Galleon Minerva and can drop the Flame Cannon shard.

Aello (#4)

NormalHard/Nightmare
Level46
HP2030
XP1117
Item DropsResist
Tomato8.00%Slash: 0Strike: 0Thrust: -50

Monster Bird Tear8.00%Light: 0Dark: 0Poison: 0
Curse: 0Stone: 50
ShardLocation
Gale Crawler4.00%Galleon Minerva, Arvantville, Entrance

Aellos are a step up. They fly, which can make them a nuisance when other enemies are around. If you see them flapping faster, they're about to unleash a volley of feathers. You'll want to jump away from them at a 45-degree angle to dodge. Once they're isolated, they're much easier to handle. You can find them in Galleon Minerva, Arvantville, and the Entrance, and they can drop the Gale Crawler shard.

Ghost (#5)

NormalHard/Nightmare
Level46
HP1928
XP1523
Item DropsResist
Ectoplasm10.00%Slash: 15Strike: 15Thrust: 15

Alkahest12.00%Light: -50Dark: 0Poison: 100
Curse: 100Stone: 50
ShardLocation
Summon Ghost2.00%Galleon Minerva, Entrance

Ghosts can be tricky at first due to their erratic movement. If they come at you from above, stand your ground and jump to attack as they descend. Even if you miss, you'll have moved out of their path. If they're below you, try to predict their orbit and hit them as they pass. They're found in Galleon Minerva and the Entrance, and their shard is Summon Ghost.

Dullahammer (#6)

NormalHard/Nightmare
Level57
HP4462
XP2333
Item DropsResist
Sea Urchin8.00%Slash: 0Strike: -50Thrust: 0
Bronze12.00%Fire: 0Ice: 0Thunder: -50
Dullahammer Helm3.00%Light: 0Dark: 0Poison: 0
Iron8.00%Curse: 0Stone: 50
ShardLocation
Head Flail4.00%Galleon Minerva

Don't let the ball and chain scare you! Dullahammers wind up twice before they swing, making them quite slow. If the ball misses, the attack misses. You can often defeat them before they even get a chance to swing. Blunt weapons like hammers and shoes are good against them, but honestly, just spamming Cerulean Splash four times is the easiest way to take them down. Find them in Galleon Minerva; they can drop the Head Flail shard.

Giant Rat (#7)

NormalHard/Nightmare
Level57
HP2433
XP2128
Item DropsResist
Cheese12.00%Slash: 0Strike: 20Thrust: 0
Rat Tail10.00%Fire: -25Ice: 0Thunder: 0
--Light: 0Dark: 0Poison: 0
Rat Teeth4.00%Curse: 0Stone: 50
ShardLocation
Summon Rat4.00%Arantville, Den of Behemoths

These guys are pretty straightforward. They scurry back and forth, and while they're fast, they don't do much else. Just keep an eye on their speed and try to land hits when you can. You'll find them in Arvantville and the Den of Behemoths, and they might drop the Summon Rat shard.
