Your Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night walkthrough continues! Learn how to defeat Dominique, find hidden items, and prepare for the final boss.
Alright, you're nearing the end of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night! This section, "Exorcising Demons," is pretty much the final stretch before the big bad. You should have access to almost everything in the game now – all the items, shards, and map pieces you might have missed. It's a good time to wrap up any side quests or collectables, and honestly, doing so now can make that final boss fight a whole lot easier. Plus, having some solid healing items on hand is always a smart move before a tough encounter.
You'll find the path to the Final Boss located two rooms left of the Save Room on the far left side of this region. Make sure you save your game before heading in!
I’ll Make This Your Grave
We'll pick up directions from the tall room just outside the 2x2 area, assuming you might be coming from either the Gremory Boss fight or the Teleportation Room. This room has a door on the upper right and then three doors consecutively down the left side.
If you take the door on the lower left, you'll enter a room where you'll need to use Dimension Shift to teleport between small empty spaces to progress. Once you've navigated that, head through the door on the left.
In the next room, you'll again use Dimension Shift to pass through a small gap that you might have otherwise used Reflector Ray for. Head down and keep an eye out for a weak wall on the right side as you descend. Smash through it to find a Capacity Up item (#13). Continue to the bottom of this room and drop through the floor. In the next room, proceed to the very bottom and go through the door on the right. This leads to a Save Room, so definitely save your progress here. Trust me, the upcoming fight is no joke.
When you're ready to face what's next, head through the door on the left.
Boss: Dominique
Dominique is a tough one, clocking in at Level 42 with 4989 HP. She'll net you 4212 XP and drops the Resist item. Her resistances are pretty standard, with a strong Light resistance (75%) and a weakness to Dark (-25%), but she also has 100% resistance to Stone. Her shard drops from Glacial Tomb.
Dominique is incredibly agile, often hopping and dodging around the arena. This agility can actually be one of her biggest damage dealers against you, so you'll need to stay on your toes.
Phase 1
- Holy Whip!: Her basic attack. It has a decent range, so be ready to jump or dodge when you see her coil up like she's about to throw a discus.
- Inferno: She'll summon columns of fire along the ground. Your best bet is to find the safe spots between them. You can often get some hits in while she's casting this, but be prepared to dodge as soon as the first column starts to dissipate.
- Light Bolts: Dominique creates a light sigil, then fires two bolts of light that arc towards you. They home in initially but then travel in a straight line. Moving away from them gives you more space to dodge.
- Flame Barrage: She'll create a series of sigils in an arc around her and then shoot fire from each one. There's a small safe zone very close to her where the flames are forming but haven't fully ignited. Landing hits here is risky but possible.
Generally, for dodging, try to move in the opposite direction of her attacks, or even get right up close and dodge backward through her. This can help you avoid many of her bigger moves.
- Double Beam: Two beams of light shoot from her hand and converge on you. Try to invert your movement as soon as possible to stay between them, or you'll get squeezed. Staying on the ground can be dangerous as one beam often tracks the floor.
Phase 2 (Below 50% Health)
- Elbow: If you're too close, she might do a quick upward elbow, launching you into the air. Try to maintain a bit of distance to avoid this.
- Summon Dragon: Similar to the Doppelganger fight, she'll summon a large dragon for a fiery swipe. Get behind her before the dragon attacks to avoid it.
- Ice Drop: She'll say the spell's name, raise her hand, and then ice chunks will fall from sigils in the air.
Offense against Dominique
Landing hits on Dominique is tricky due to her constant dodging and teleportation. Many of her powerful spells also make large parts of the arena inaccessible. You'll mostly be squeezing in attacks between her moves. If you have any poison attacks, they seem to be effective!
Early on, Light Bolts is super fast, and Flame Barrage and Double Beam are complex to get hits in on. If she uses...
