Alright, let's talk about the Towers of Twin Dragons. This place is pretty unique, built around these massive machine-driven towers. The background actually spins around you in a 3D plane, even though you're moving on a fixed 2D path that spirals up. It's a cool visual, but it can mess with some of your attacks and Shards, like Reflector Ray which won't work outside at all, and Adrasteia's homing can get a bit wonky here. When you first arrive from the Garden of Silence, you'll only be able to access the lower west tower area. Keep an eye out for the Hair Apparent VI book near the bottom trapdoor platforms. Once you get into the horizontal hallways above, you'll head west and eventually trigger a cutscene before entering Livre Ex Machina. After you defeat Andrealphus in Livre Ex Machina and get the Double Jump shard, you'll need to backtrack to those west tower hallways. Look for a hole above the three Poltergeists – use your new Double Jump to get up there. This skill will be essential for climbing the upper parts of the tower. You can even use its kick-attack to rebound off candles to reach some hidden green chests containing Hair Apparent VII, Pasta Dish/R, and Sweets/R. Once you reach the hallways connecting both towers near the roof, find the warp room on the left. Grab the Special Ammunition/R from the green chest on your way east, then flip a lever to activate an elevator. Ride it up to the upper-right section of the zone and work your way down until you face the Valac boss. After beating Valac, open the gold chest nearby to get the Silver Bromide key item. You'll need to take this to Dominique in Arvantville to get the Identification. Then, trade that with Orlok Dracule for the Passplate. Finally, use the Passplate on the machine in the Bridge of Evil to catch a train to the Underground Sorcery Lab. Later in the game, when you have the Invert ability from Inferno Cave, you can use the elevator again. Ride it down to the bottom left corner of the tower screen (where Valac was fought) and use Invert to access new areas.
