Learn how to navigate the Spawn Temple in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, including strategies for the 'Smoke and Ruin' challenge round and dealing with shadow zombies.

Fresh out of the Room of Fate with your newly acquired powers, you enter into a familiar arena of sorts. Upon looking at the picture of the level on the Silverback Trail, you might be inclined to think the arena would be exactly the same as in DOA2. This is only partially true. It's a little closer to the Donut arena from DOA2. The level layout is almost identical, aside from the glaringly large purple hole in the middle of the map. And yes, if you jump into the hole, you die. If you look very closely, you will notice there is an item floating in the hole. The idea is that you can collect the item by falling down the hole into the spawning vat, but you will die. That aside, the hole also serves as a spawning point for zombies to climb from and attack you.

You have a Challenge Round here called "Smoke and Ruin." Remember the shadow zombies from DOA2? They have returned and they still raise your anxiety levels just as much as they did before. They come from the holes indicated by a blue flash and then transform into black shadows that chase you down. Upon killing one, it disintegrates and flies to a different location on the map where you must kill it again.

NOTE: After exiting a vehicle near a hole, you can give yourself a brief few seconds of invincibility, then drop down the hole to collect the item. You will respawn outside of the hole with the item and without losing a life.

Do not use a nuke if possible. Nukes cause shadow zombies to spawn from the middle.

LEVEL STRATEGY

Apply the old stick and move routine. In case you haven't figured this out yet, camping rarely gets you very far in this game - especially on solo. Use the hole in the middle as a barrier and shoot the enemies across the hole since they can't get you from there for a moment. Again, avoid dropping nukes if possible as it will cause a bunch of shadow zombies to appear from the hole and ruin your day. If you have a full squad of players, try to spread out a bit to avoid getting smacked down in an enclosed area.
