Old Key Location and Use: Prologue 2

Discover where to find the missable Old Key during the Prologue festival and its crucial use in Act II, Old Lumière, for a missable Journal and achievement in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Alright, so you're in the Prologue of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and there's this Old Key you might want to grab. It's part of the farewell festival, and if you miss it now, you'll have to start a whole new game to get it later. Don't worry, we'll make sure you snag it!

There are three stalls set up during the festival, and each one needs a Festival Token. You start with one, but you can snag two more by doing a couple of quick things:

1. Festival Token #1: You already have this one!
2. Festival Token #2: Chat with Antoine. You'll need to pick specific answers: “67 years ago”, then “Expedition Zero”, and finally, “Abilities you internalise by using a Pictos in battle after enough times”.
3. Festival Token #3: You'll need to beat Maelle in a friendly duel.

Once you've got your tokens, head over to Colette's stall – she's the one on the right. Agree to buy the artifact, and boom, you've got the Old Key!

Now, about using that Old Key... you can't use it right away. You'll need to hold onto it until Act II, specifically when you're in Old Lumière. Keep an eye out for the Left Street Expedition Flag.

Once you reach the Left Street Expedition Flag and you're controlling Maelle and Verso, head through the broken archway. Look to your right – you'll spot a crane hook up above and a big broken pipe sticking out of the wall. There's a glowing purple item on it, which is a Polished Chroma Catalyst, so grab that. Then, you'll want to drop down into the pipe through the opening.

Inside the pipe, turn around. You'll see a corpse and a Journal behind a metal gate. This gate is locked, but guess what? It's time to use that Old Key you saved! Unlock the gate, grab the Journal – it's called 'Fracture Survivor'. This might seem small, but it's one of the Journals you need for the 'Follow the Trail' achievement/trophy, so it's definitely missable if you didn't grab the key earlier.
