Crysis 2 Part 19 walkthrough covering the Dark Heart mission, including defeating Harvesters and sabotaging the Ceph conduit.
Walkthrough
- 1Continue forward until you hear radio chatter and an explosion rocks the tunnel.
- 2A Ceph will kill one of Reeve’s men ahead. Kill it and watch for more to filter into the area.
- 3Use the silenced DSG-1 for easy kills and grab the Nano Catalyst.
- 4Secure the area, killing about six aliens before going down the incline.
- 5Choose a tactical option: Ledge Grab to access the catwalk, Observe to get a JAW Rocket Launcher and engage Ceph, or Explore to find an MK.60 MOD (a community-made modification that changes the game) 0 machine gun and ammo crates.
- 6If you chose Observe, go up the stairs, use Nanovision (a vision mode that highlights enemies and items) to locate Ceph, take the JAW Launcher if you have room, and jump down to grab the Nano Catalyst when hostiles are down.
- 7East of the stairwell to the catwalk, pass through a doorway and the arched one beyond, turn left, and find a “Dog Tag” near an ammo crate and a corpse.
- 8If you chose Explore, walk the long service corridor to acquire the MK.60 MOD 0 machine gun.
- 9Exit and head for the waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination), veering right where the passage is blocked by debris.
- 10Use the doorway and continue forward up the stairwell. Crouch to get under the ductwork, turn right and take the DSG-1 if you don't have one.
- 11A Harvester will appear; defeat it for the Catalyst.
- 12Before going through the next door, raid the room to the left of the passage for ammo, two C4 charges, and a “New York Souvenir” under the duct.
- 13You will enter another partially flooded tunnel. Tactical options become available.
- 14Choose a tactical option: Ledge Grab for a “Dog Tag” and a DSG-1 atop orange scaffolding, Resupply for an ammo crate and an X-43 Mike microwave weapon, or Destroy to clear rubble.
- 15Vault to the top of the first scaffold to acquire a “Dog Tag” and a DSG-1 Sniper Rifle.
- 16Move forward to the ammo crates at “Resupply” and take the X-43 Mike to replace your other weapon.
- 17Continue on, selecting “Destroy” to begin your assault on the Spore Conduit.
- 18Light the fuse of the explosive at the waypoint and back off to clear the debris-filled passage.
- 19Hargreaves will brief you on sabotaging the veins and the Ceph control structure.
- 20Move past the debris into the large service conduit. New tactical options will be offered.
- 21Select “Flank” and remain cloaked along the left rock face.
- 22A tremor announces an alien craft that will arise and move off.
- 23The task of interfacing with the spore veins to sabotage the alien conduit will be given.
Tips
- To defeat a Harvester, you can use three well-aimed JAW rockets or two blocks of C4. The HMG can also work, especially targeting its weak spot on its back, requiring about thirty-five HMG rounds.
- Nanovision isn’t strictly necessary but can help spot enemies.
- The MK.60 MOD 0 machine gun is one of the game’s most potent primary weapons, offering a large capacity for sustained fire.
- The X-43 Mike microwave weapon cooks its victim with a concentrated stream of microwaves but must be held on target briefly. Its 500 rounds can be useful, but ammo can become a problem.
- Additional C4 explosives are located along the right wall before entering the passage after the partially flooded tunnel.
- When selecting “Flank,” remain cloaked and along the left rock face.
